October 20, 20178 yr I remember I was a bit sad when seeing on a music channel that 'Ready For The Weekend' by Calvin Harris had fallen loads of places out of the top 10 as I was really starting to like it by that stage! I notice you say this a lot, why is it essential for a track like that to have "emotion"? It's quite clear the aim of it is not to be an "emotional" track. I know what you mean by emotion, and I agree in that sense, but to further that I think a dance/house smash should invoke emotion when it's played in a club/bar setting - it should make you want to move, or help you feel upbeat, enjoy yourself - or alternatively in an exercise setting should help you emotionally into reaching your goal.

October 24, 20178 yr you mean euphoric, not emotional. an auphoric song makes you wanna jump on the table and dance. an emotional song is a song that comes from the guts and is sung with raw emotion, like Kelly Clarkson singing Piece by piece on American Idol, meaning every word they sing, that's emotional imho Dance songs can easily be emotional and euphoric (they're not mutually exclusive). If the song evokes a feeling of sorrow, happiness, or just some kind of feeling that you cannot explain I'd call it emotional. Euphoric is more like a song that gives you chills because of how amazing it is. For me some emotional dance songs include: Delirium - Silence London Grammar - Hey Now (Arty Remix) M83 & Susanne Sundfor - Oblivion Most of Kygo's early catalogue ATB - Ecstasy Röyksopp & Robyn - Monument Röyksopp & Susanne Sundfor - Running To The Sea (a couple more Röyksopp songs) Katy Perry - Teenage Dream (Kaskade Remix) and while in some of those songs the emotion comes from the singer a lot of the emotion comes from the beat as well.
