Maybe someone put on a random big bet and it had a domino effect on odds in the market, maybe bookies are just limiting potential losses if she was to actually release and get number 1.

If she does release then she is obv going for Christmas number 1 and would release at midnight so we would hear some news, all a bit strange!

It's rarely one random bet - it'll be insider information. I expect there's been an internal confirmation at her label or something that she is releasing Fastlove on Friday, so no surprise that a few people will take advantage of that to have a bet.

Wow, well Ed vs. Adele would be a fantastic Xmas No.1 battle if she does release, arguably the biggest male and female solo artists in the world right now.

I expect Adele will walk it though

Let's be clear a new Adele release vs an 8 month old Ed release - there would only be one winner!

There seems to have been lots of rumours on Twitter that Adele was releasing 'Fastlove' on 1st December but that obviously didn't happen. Her odds crashing so dramatically gives more credibility to the theory she's releasing it now but it seems strange that they'd not have given any indication of it by this stage if it's really out tomorrow?

I don't know why nothing would be announced at this stage as people at least need to know it's out in like 4 hours?!

I don't think there's an Adele release. Unless she's releasing in the week but that'll definitely damage any chance of Christmas no 1.

 

It's really strange, unless there's an article somewhere and people have jumped on board as her bets closed in..VERY ODD.

If Mariah did get to #1 the week after christmas, would she be the first to go #1 - OUT? Presumably she doesn't usually hold up well enough to remain top 40 after christmas week is over.

Let's be honest though a surprise Adele release at Christmas would sell itself, especially if as rumoured it is in aid of Grenfell Fire victims, she doesn't have to do any pre-release hype or promo.
