Some more comments from Mel (and other America's Got Talent related celebs) here:

Also here's a video of Mel B warning Phoenix not to say anything about the reunion https://twitter.com/extratv/status/973649903909040130 which makes it seem like she was worried Phoenix might spill the beans about something she shouldn't?

Bless Emma. She obviously wants something to happen but doesn't want to get too carried away.

If Cordon had said this to Mel B, it'd be a done deal, in the press, definitely going ahead, "We're shooting it tomorrow afternoon". Then... nada.

 so true!!

Imagine if all 5 were like mel b we would be on album 8 by now and they would be doing vegas.

 More like they would be endorsing water and lollipops (no change there  ) and promising that the album was coming out for 12 years...

I have a friend who works at Heart Radio and has the same manager as Emma there. Apparently they are all crapping themselves because Emma's contract comes up for renewal in summer and she is refusing to confirm whether she is re-signing or not... Another thing to add to the fire of Spice Girls reunion.

Haha. Ain't that the truth! ;)

Just watched the James Corden interview.

Tbh I'd love for her to move away from Heart now. I feel like anything would be more interrsting from a fans view point. She can always go back to radio in a couple of years. I'm sure loads of stations would have her.

Even if it was to just further her tv work.

Mel B stop messing with your face

She looks so good naturally, but this is the strangest she´s ever looked! Even when she put a bit of a chin on she looked pretty good, but Im not even sure what she´s done now, she just suddenly looks very odd and swollen

The Spice Girls’ Next Project: An Animated Superhero Movie (EXCLUSIVE)

The five group members will voice the character each of which will have her own "girl power."

Spice Girl power… activate! Variety has learned that an animated film project starring the Spice Girls is being shopped to potential production partners. According to a source, all five members of the group have signed off on their likenesses being used for a superhero-themed movie working off of the “girl power” message. Each character will be voiced by a Spice Girl — the group’s members include Victoria Beckham (“Posh Spice”), Melanie Brown (“Scary Spice”), Emma Bunton (“Baby Spice”), Melanie Chisholm (“Sporty Spice”) and Geri Halliwell (“Ginger Spice”) — and feature a “girl power” unique to that group member that reflects each girl’s personality.

The news follows recent rumors that the British girl group founded in 1994 planned to stage a reunion tour. While the former bandmates acknowledged that they had met “to explore some incredible new opportunities together,” an insider told Variety that talk of a tour was “premature” and that no dates have been booked by CAA, the Spice Girls’ longtime agency. Beckham herself has played down any possibility of a tour.

But with the animated superhero concept, the girls are committed and even “fired up about the idea,” says a source, adding, “The Spice Girls are thinking big in terms of a franchise on a global scale. They’re the most successful girl group on the planet. It’s just what Marvel or Disney needs.”

Manager Simon Fuller would not comment on the group’s future plans.

Hoo boy. What's scary is Variety is a generally reliable source...and isn't likely to make up something out of thin air.

So. That said...who on earth made that quote? Disney owns Marvel, Indiana Jones and Star Wars. Between all of that and the constant live action remakes of their past films, Disney is destined to rule the box office for the rest of eternity. They don't exactly "need" a group that's been defunct for 17 years.

I'm guessing the strategy is to pull in new, young fans. The music and characters would hold up for them...and animation would hide that these are now women in their 40s. But. I can't see any major production taking the gamble. The girls had their chance to record a song for the Hercules soundtrack back in 1997. That Disney ship sailed long ago.

Just another premature plan leaking out without a prayer of actually happening?

Guys they hired a publicist they didn't do that for some film that would take about 2 years minimum to come out. I'm sure loads of things are being talked about right now.

I'm certain they signed to do something this year at the meeting at Geri's but put out the pic and statement to see what other offers come in.

This was shared on the DenDen 2.0 facebook page:

Just had a FABULOUS chat with Melanie C. I'll try get the interview published online by Sunday, but managed to get some amazing Spice and solo gossip from her.

My highlight was the Spice updates: Yes, there is a potential TV show and animated movie in the pipeline, but NOTHING reality TV related. There is also the "potential to perform together" but everything is early stages and nothing is confirmed.

You're welcome ;-)
