There is no point them bothering with Europe when the Europeans can come to the UK.

Right, why bother with Europe when you have the UK! Who wouldn’t wanna go to the UK!!!!

Thank God us Europeans we have cheap flights to the US and even South America, I’d rather spend my money where the weather is amazing than going to rainy London.

Note: I also hope Geri has the decency to get ready of that racist Union Jack flag. After Brexit, and considering they probably won’t visit Europe, it might look like she supports the division.

I really hate the association of the Union Jack flag being racist, how utterly ridiculous to call a flag of a nation racist it does not represent a whole nation. 49% of the UK voted to remain myself included, I also love the union jack have it on my car roof and I am most certainly not a racist.

By that logic then the German flag is Anti-semetic and the Russian flag (plus countless others) is homophobic.

Aus/UK/US/South America. There is no point them bothering with Europe when the Europeans can come to the UK. Obviously you never know with them, they have dates pencil booked in Australia twice and still never actually performed there.

They definitely won't call it the last time, it will be framed as a celebration I'm sure but I think they know it's definitely the last time they do anything on this scale. It won't be the end of the spice girls as they won't want to close that door ever just in case of what might pop up in the future.

No Europe or Asia?

Wouldnt surprise me, but that would suck... The UK and the rest of Europe are quite distinct and specially with its current wave of etno-nacionalism and Brexit, I dont think it is very appealing for EU people to come to the UK.

They got quite good results in a few EU countries with Spice25, including cjart positions and lots of press. They would be silly to miss like Italy, France, germany, etc...

They struggled in 2007 to sell out 1 arena in Germany and Spain whilst they sold out the o2 seventeen times.

Who knows maybe they will get some nice offers for some European shows, it's still a long way away anything can happen.

Europe is massive though and if you can't do several dates in each country then it's a lot of traveling for not a lot of return.

Thanks. You put it better than I did. I let the anger take over.

I couldn’t have said it better.

Yeah my cousins went to Germany to see the show and they said it was only half full, I think they gave up on Europe after that, they had a lot more success in the US and the UK.

Lack of Asia is sad though since at least Europe have had tour dates in the past.

Well 2007 is 14 years ago, the nostalgia factor is much bigger now , i think the girls easily could sell out an european arena tour if they wanted to.
If they wanted one European (non-UK) date they may as well go all out and try for the Stade de France…

That would be so iconique!!

I could see them doing a show there, a couple in Italy, then Germany and Norway and call it a day in Europe. Maybe Greece too? I bet the open amphitheatres would be AMAZING there, plus the amount of tourists that would go would certainly sell it out easily ah

I've never ventured into this forum before so i'm not sure if this is the right place to post but recently i've been thinking about how much i'd love a Spice Girls x Little Mix collaboration one day! The biggest girl group ever and the biggest girl group since them collaborating would be so iconic.

The Netherlands say hi :cheer:

Not even Japan? This is sad, even smaller groups can manage to tour more continents than them.

I'm sure if the offers are right they would tour anywhere.

Meaning they aren't big enough in Asia to get the right offers. Almost every biggest acts in the world/true artists tour Asia so...

It's the Spice Girls they are big enough they just have ties/priorities to certain countries. Most have lived or worked in the US at some point. Australia Mel B lived and they have been begging for a tour there. They are obviously British so the UK is a must.

If you are going to commit to say 50 dates in total you'll want them places you know or are easiest. They could do a 200 date tour if they played arenas and went everywhere but it's just not going to happen, they aren't young artists looking to prove themselves or build a fan base in certain countries. It will be what's easiest, sells and they can fit in their schedule.

I think it's because of their short-lived career and small catalogue, then they just vanished. It's impossible to just show up 25 years later and expect to get huge offers. Older acts with big catalogue tour Asia in the later stage of their careers, it's not about building fan base, it's what the true artists do, those acts got nothing to prove to anyone yet they still do it. You know I don't mind it makes sense if you're looking at it.

Which to be fair on the girls is totally their right. I mean all of them are mothers and the group is not and will never ever be their main priority anymore. None of the girls need the money its a luxury more than anything. If I were in their position I'd never work again and purely focus on my family.

You have to always remember that being a Spice Girl is essentially a job to them. Whilst the things they can do as a spice girl I'm sure give the biggest 'high' like playing Wembley and the biggest paycheck, it's also by far the biggest commitment they have to make.

A tour isn't just the days they are actually performing, it's travelling, costume fittings, planning meetings, rehearsals, photo shoot to sell or promote it, the few days doing the press circuit when tickets go on sale.

Compare that to an evening bopping about playing a pre made dj set or Emma sat at home writing a few anecdotes for a baby book and you see how to them these days a tour or being Spice Girl is a big commitment.
