Omfg this is just what I said!!! She is DESPERATE to be Posh. She even took on Posh's role in the tour!! She gets her insiders, aka friends and herself, to tell journalists that she has more money thsn Victoria!! :rofl: I even believed it for a time, but she's not even CLOSE to the *literal* Beckham Billions.

 

And I told you, Jay, that her langauge before basically meant rhat she'd quit the SG!! I saw it coming last year, when she started floating around and sccreaming that she was Shakespeare/ J.K/ Dahl combined. She got interviewers to call her an EX Spicy Lady and talk about her tripe, trite, inspid "books". This was NEVER a side project for The Ego; Ego Spice just wanted the exposure, whilst signalling to HER new friends, her audience, that was one of them - white gowns and twirling around - and to do something her landed gèntry husband and friends would approve of: having a ghost writer. Told y'all she killed the band!! Multiple times now, I might add ! It must be exhausting being the Mels and the Emma, trying over and over again for 20 years to get VB - confidence destroyed - and The Ego back.

Sadly, I agree. They are done music and touring wise. Merch will still come, of course, but thats it. Geri and Victoria have always, always, been the difficult ones when it comes to music and performing. So it is not surprising they are done with it. I will wait to see what the documentary is like, but it isnt an exciting prospect at all, is it?... We've had so many over the years telling exactly the same story over and over again... enough... make something new or dont bother...

 

And no, I wont be getting any more merch or anniversary editions. I will stream any 'new' music that might pop up in aniversary editions if they bother to put that out there. But whilst I am excited to hear that - specially a Forever25 release - I wont be buying it anymore.

100%. They're done. Geri was off the dame dsy they finished that big London show. That's all she wanted from the tour. She's been planning this high class "I'm the new Shakespeare, oi am" persona gor YEARS now. Spices were just a stepping stone for Ego Spice ... again, just like back when she left then AFTER ONE AND A HALF ALBUMS!!! - destroying their legacy forever - because she thought, and I quote, "Oi'm the nee British Madonna, Oi am!" Jesus H Christ!!

 

The sad thing s, the other three could absolutely do a new SG album; they were ALWAYS the main voices. Geri's voice is so bad that she won't be missed, and her writing is atrocious. They just need to go with the producers of I Turn To You, or the Wannabe producers, get some help with the lyrics, and they'd be good to go. VB will be a bit of a miss, particularly in the harmonies, but they can get session singers to beef out the vocals. Sugababes have always been a three and they made it work... Take That made it work. Westshite wrnt for years without one of their talentless himbos.

The two 4-piece line ups proved that they dont always need Vicky or Gerita, depending on what the project is. I feel a tour will always do well as a 4 or 5 piece, they have proven that over and over again. New music also seems like they would do well with Victoria or not.

 

But it is never gonna happen anyway...

Yeah, looks like this is it... No tours, no new music, nothin. They want ud to stay interested to buy merchandise, when they have absolutely no interest in the band thenselves... So, why should we? No merc without new music/ tours and that's that.

I mean, if Melanie C can change things up with her solo career and improve, I see no reason as to why the girls cant either. They just need a good motif and focus, which they dont have sadly...

 

The GH tracks were lame because they tried to recreate the sound from the 90s for the purposes of promoting a specific sound. A mistake, but ultimately had they actually promoted the music it would have been better received, come on :rolleyes:

 

Biff and Kylie just did an amazing pop album that reflects current trends whilst also paying homage to her previous sounds. It's a good lane she found herself in. There's no reason to think the girls cant do the same if they focus!

Yeah I agree, but session singers exist! They can hirr them as permanent singers and go on tour with them, etc, and have like an even bigger girl power theme that way and do more dramatic, live band-style performances.

What Mel C had was a new management and A&R team that took her to the next level production and sound wise. Writing and singing wise, she is still pretty much at the same level she was before, just with a better team. She was doing the same middle of the road stuff for 20 years and by her own admission, she was 'stuck'.

 

I agree that she was wise to switch it up and it is frustrating that she wouldnt think the same about the group. It strikes me she is one of those that says 'LEGACY LEGACY LEGACY!!! You cant replicate the success we had with the 90s sound so lets not bother to swap' which is so short sighted.... if Holler and Headlines didnt tarnish their legacy, new music wont either...

 

BUT to be fair to her, she did change her tune about unreleased music such as C U Next Tuesday and others, so who knows....

Honestly I will always love the band and the girls but i’m just over it all now tbh. I hold no hope for them to do anything worthwhile in the future, their comebacks have been half arsed and money grabs and seems to be no real effort to keep their legacy alive! I could name so many smaller bands and acts that have put time and passion into comebacks and things unlike them.

 

Also even if Geri did come back I just fear she’d be even more awkward than she was on the 2019 tour and that was bad enough, she just seemed so embarrassed to even be there and we all know Victoria is well over it.
