I sincerely doubt Geri had a ghost writer. Writing has always been her strength.

Honestly, her ego has always been the reason why the band has a short-lived legacy. First, she quit when the going got tough (excruciating world tour, band’s popularity on a decline) and then dropped solo music a year later with a documentary to ensure that she gets full publicity and that she would be the Robbie Williams of the group. Once that faded, she rejoined the band and toured America where she missed the fist round. And then for one last time, she wanted to do Wembley Stadium because she missed out the first time. While the others wanted to continue, she has had enough. She’s fulfilled all her personal goals from the band.
I really wish Victoria rejoin instead and they continue as a four piece (for one last time)

Too bad touring Australia isn't a personal goal of hers. :nocheer:

It will be the same as always, Geri thinks she is above the Spice Girls and has a bigger project and when it flops she will be sniffing round for another reunion.

Since 2005 everything she has touched has been a total disaster and this book will be no different. She will get a sense of how unpopular she really is in the next few weeks.

Unpopular in your opinion.

I don’t think she evokes more dislike from the public than Mel B or Victoria.

As for the book I think the target audience won’t have an opinion on her as a celebrity like the 30 and 40 somethings who aren’t likely to buy the book anyway.

I can see the book standing on its own. Also let’s not forget how well Ugenia Lavender done.

I'm no longer a supporter of Geri since Tory-gate but this seems pretty authentic for her. And she seems pretty enthusiastic about it all. I think she's just in another stage of her life and I have no doubt she'll return to the stage if the right opportunity comes around *enough money from the promoters*

Yup, the other three wanted to continue back in 2019 for the rest of the world because they knew they owed that to us fans since they skipped twice but no, Geri, said she’s fulfilled now. She never really cared for us fans. She said sorry to the girls at Wembley for being a brat back then, yet I think she also owes it to us for still being the same brat 20 plus year later.

Kids wont be buying the book themselves, it will be the 35 to 40 year old parents making the decision to buy it or not.

This is true, and mostly likely former Spice fans. Although I see the target being so specific: successful working moms, the ones.. Kate, Karen, Kimberly, and all the other Ks.

Tory Gerita is aiming for the ultimate right wing demographic: the KKK mums :teresa:

That TikTok made me feel quite sad

I saw this book as being somewhat a fun side project for her... but it's now evident that Geri sees being a YA author as her main career now? I mean, I'm happy for her to be fulfilling a life goal of having a published novel, but as a fan, to read "dropped the mic" / "I once was... (a Spice Girl)"... it's like she's firmly put the Spice Girls to bed. :(

Really seems like it... Dont think she will ever 'leave' the band, but they wont do any more singing or touring i'm afraid :( It's sad...

We will get more merch, probably some future anniversary edition releases, and the odd documentary etc but it is clear Geri has fully moved on with the performing and singing side of things.

She said in her chat that music will always be her first love. I think that said it all.

She probably doesn’t want to do Spice Girls stuff now unless it’s something special which is fair enough.

Well, I think she’s definitely more skilled as a writer than a performer. She struggles at singing live (“Half Of Me@, the GAY gig, etc), and she isn’t a dancer (while the Melanies hollered with their dances moves, she was sipping tea like the Lady she is now.) Let her do what she’s comfortable doing. I also think writing will keep the bad press away, they won’t scrutinise her as they do when she’s a Spice Girl or solo artist. She’s 50, she’s got a beautiful family, lots of money, and her car she loves. I don’t think she owes anything to anyone.

 No. She had a ghost writer. He literally includes it on his cv

Writing SONGS WAS!!! - note, was - het strength when WITH OTHERS!!! She is NOT a writer.

Yep... it really is over isn't it?.... and all to do a lame book series that seems to vapid and unoriginal.... jesus f***ing christ...

The biggest and best girl band ever reduced to this crap <_<

100% THIS!!! Hrr diehard fans screaming sHe WasBoRn to bE a WrItEr,   going along sith her stupid narrative thst she will be remmebered!!! for her crappy, unoriginal, ghost written efforts over, um, BEING IN THE BIGGEST GIRL BAND EVER!! (A band thst she SINGLE-HANDEDLY destroyed: 1. Her idea to fire thr manager and grt the ire of his powerful media friends, 2. Leave the band during the second!!! Album.) What a joke+ she can't write for shit and is obsessed with her ego. She left the band in 2019 after Wembley. She was just there for Wembley and a peofile boost for her ghost-eritten vapid "books", which her music fans will buy - see, thr music she is releasing alongdide it to tempt them to buy it lol.

She is NO Posh. She is OBSESSED with Posh, to the point of sealing away Ginger and floating around stage in a white dress, rrplacing hrr eith Knock-off Posh, twilrling around, and pretending to be Julie Andrews int hr Sound of Music!! Posh is worth much more, and has ALWAYS!!! been known for fashion. ALWAYS. Posh remains unbothered ... and even so, she is still KNOWN FOR BEING A SPICE GIRL!!! You were in thr biggest girl band and ever. It is why you can afford the ghost writer in thr first place and why ANYONE would publish your ... messerature!!! Accept it!! You are NOT Shakespeare. You are NOT J.K!! Accept it and let actual writers get the press. Stick with thr BIGGEST GIRL BAND EVERa and build on that legacy. If not, Destiny's Child and TLC WILL overtake ... and they'll deserve to.

It didn't do well. It was all about curiosity buys of the first book in the series, which was ghost-written too btw, as it was promoted in all the bookshops around the country, plus some music stores. She also had Spice Girls fans buying it; remember, she cried and raved when the fsns turned up to the stores lol. Ego Spice could not believe thst only Spice fans were interested in her being Shakespeare 2: This Time It's Ego. That was also the time when only celebs were being heavily promoted and picked up, as they were seen as sure-fire hits. Of course, they can't write, and so after one book, the interest had gone, and that's what happened with Geri too. It didn't stand on its own; it was a product of its time, and a manipulated marketing, cynical celeb moment in time, just like all the others, and then it faded. It's not actually real literature; it's celeb merch, little different to a t shirt with a slogan designed by Geri.

Also I 100% agree; it was her ego that killed the band. Three times now, I'm counting? Her ego both built and destroyed their legacy. If she didn't operate like this, like an absolute melt with fake personalities, thr Spice Girls might well have reached about a third of the Beatles' overall sales, and likely would have a Mamma Mia-style musical and film, plus animated movies. Alas... The Ego has spoken many, many times ... unfortunately.

I honestly think you have issues.
