Big news...

I'm in Liverpool for work and just been to the British Music Experience.

The staff told me that they were going to have a Spice Girls exhibit earlier this year but didn't happen due to Eurovision, however its now planned for February. They told me it's going to be one of the biggest exhibitions they've ever had and hoping to have a couple of the girls here to open! There not sure when it will be announced publicly but they seem really excited!

Looks like Liverpool will be spiced up in February 2024

 

What do we think girlies? Apparently this doesn't have the input from the girls, it seems. But sounds cute, specially if it is a major exhibition, instead of that fan-made one. Having some of the girls open it could be quite amazing. I could see the Mels being at the opening, and maybe Emma too.

Be nice for a day trip to Liverpool next year. If the documentary comes in March then it is good timing.

There is 20% off on the official store. It includes everything bar the new Christmas merch and rather annoyingly the music releases.

 

Still it makes the tshirts and hoodies seem much reasonable price.

Trash Theory has included the Spice Girls on another of their documentaries, this time about 12 acts that defined the Top of the Pops tv show, which the Spice Girls were an intrumental part of.

 

Interestingly, it suggests that the show was already on its last legs when the girls gave it another boost, and dives a bit more into the influence of the girls on pop culture too, with insights into how it brought space for acts like Adele, Charli XCX and more to the mainstream. It does say that this last boost was also its final demise, as by then it was competing with MTV and shows like The Box that would show music videos and performances too, and it ends on a bit of a bitter note, to be honest.

 

Yes, the girls brought pop forward and shapped the landscape, but it ultimately also ensured that the focus was now more on the commerce side of things rather than the music. And that's sadly true.

 

There's been a recent ramp up on documentaries about them on YouTube actually... This one is from a very popular USA channel, Deep Dive and it was uploaded yesterday and it already has .

 

It's quite amazing how younger generations on social media are taking to them :cheer:

Hear me out here! First, we had Emma interviewing Gerita on Heart FM and saying 'we gotta get the costumes ready for the next tour cos that's a huge thing' like two weeks ago! :teresa:

 

Today, BabyBunton got it on again and tweeted to her American fans that she will 'See you next year ✌��' :cheer:

 

And now Mel C finished her Australian tour with a 'I'll see you very soon and maybe with my friends with me', which she then re-iterated later in an interview with 'as I said on stage, I cant wait to come back to Australia and I might bring some friends with me, I'm gonna get myself in trouble now' :w00t:

We KNOW that the Documentary is coming up! I think something there is definitely something else coming up, they have all hinted at it in some shape or form. But could we DREAM of a Tour?...

 

A proper World Tour? With at least UK + USA + Australia?

If I had to guess Geri green lit a 4 piece tour again last month, probably the day she posted a video of herself making 'ginger tea' to SUYL playing with a cheeky smile.

 

The Spice Girls tiktok have a few days ago pinned the anniversary post of the 4 of them kicking of SW19.

 

The website is being updated slowly (they have ditched the Spiceworld25 logo on the home page and now started changing the covers in the video section).

 

The 4 announce the tour the week of the documentary dropping in March, big 30th anniversary celebration with the documentary providing promo. US/Aus/UK dates, late 2024 to Summer 2025, Glastonbury with Victoria, 5 dates at Wembley late summer 2024 with Victoria to finally play Wembley as 5 and if they never tour/perform again a perfect place to finish.

Nope, it was a flop. Sold nuttin.

And thsnk god that hack has finally stopped pretendin to be Shakespeare!! She'll be back with Spicy ones, before splitting them up again to pretend to be -insert job here ... perhaps this time Geri First Dates Host Spice? - "It's always been my DREAM to host and I will be remembered for being a tv host, and NOT a, grumbles, bloody ol Spice Girl when it's at home!!! - before we know it! Too much to ask for new music thoigh. It'll be a tour and a Christmas calendar, at best.

I also think Victoria needs to look at how a reunion could benefit her business, particularly the beauty range.

 

Many popstars now have profitable beauty lines. Just imagine the content if each girl used Victoria's make-up & skincare and done a BTS make-up/skin care tutorial (I'm actually surprised she hasn't collaborated with the girls to do a limited edition Scary, Sporty, Ginger & Baby range). If she had a pop up store for each tour date alongside the Spice Girls merchandise, it's promoting her brand to 30/40k potential customers a night. Where else would she get that? Victoria is a savvy business woman, she needs to realise the potential in this.

 

And regarding any performance anxieties, she could pre-record all her vocals like Gerita.

 

I wouldn't be shocked if she re-joins and this is a stipulation in the contract.
