I think the issue is that there's a lot of ideas that are being thrown around, but you have to get all four girls (in some cases, all five) on board before they go ahead. I think the Aussie tour talk was legit, but some of them were cagey about it.

OK Mel B was just on the BBC Zoe Ball show and these are some of the things she said:

 

- She would be up for Glastonbury

 

- She says there will be more shows (mentions Australia in February again ah)

 

- Says that they spoke about new music, that Emma is up for it and Mel C really wants to do it (the fact that MC is up for it gives me JOY!) :wub:

 

- Emma is on holiday at the moment

 

- The girls are constantly on the phone and texting (the Spice World 2019 tour really revived them)

 

I think this is all positive tbh!

I'd take anything Mel B says with a grain of salt - she's even admitted that sometimes she's just putting things out there in hope that it'll make it happen :lol:

I would think they might see the annimated movie as the perfect chance to put out no pressure new material.

 

I'd also think they would be very aware of how well the GH vinyl has done. I think Geri in particular wants to make a new chapter of spice girls but not necessarily touring.

I had a listen, Glasto next year seems a big possibility. We know they were offered this year, Emma confirmed it, but Mel B seems very clued up it is the 50th anniversary next year. Makes me think they decided next year would make more sense, especially with Kylie doing this year, which they fall into the sort of same category as.

Dont get me wrong, I would much rather they do the main slot, not the legends one! They could totally headline the main stage on Friday or Saturday night and be an incredible success.

 

The legends slot would work well too of course, specially if they are looking to continue to capitalise on the nostalgia, but I would rather they would do a headline slot, specially after the huge success of this years' tour.

Kylie's legends slot was the most watched this year. It is probably the most interesting slot these days. With Ed and Adele having done Glasto apart from maybe Beyonce or Rihanna I cant see any artist upstaging the legends slot again.

 

The legends slot gets the non festival people watching too these days.

Yeah the thing is that the legends slot seems to be a downgrade, as those are for popular acts that are not considered 'current' anymore (which is stupid because both Dolly Parton and Kylie continue to be active, just not so much 'of the moment' as the main headliners).

 

I know it is super popular, and tehy would of course do really well there but I think the headline slots would be best in the grand scheme of things. And maybe they could do the legends slot at a different point in the future lol

I don't know, I think they totally could! They just sold out 13 stadium dates across the UK and Spice fever is at its highest since back in the day, so I would totally see them doing the main slot on maybe Saturday night.

I think the legends slot would be the perfect fit, and often it gets the most attention (biggest crowd / most watched TV performance). I’d be surprised if they were offered to headline.

 

That’s a really positive titbit of info that Melanie C is supposedly really up for recording new music! It would be so fantastic for them to add another music chapter to their career. I feel like it’s essential if they ever intend to tour the UK again.

 

I know with Mel it’s best to take things with a pinch of salt, but I’m feeling positive!

Im feeling positive too, this time! Mel B saying specifically that Mel C is really up for new music is NEW and I think if that wasnt true she would just saying something more vague about how they could or should, or whatever... It's a very specific pointed answer I thought! That and the Glasto being 50.

 

Still, my prefered slot would be the headline slot, not the legends one, but let's see!!
