That kinda reminds me of the If You Wanna Have Some Fun promo video...where all the old footage was recut to make it look like Geri was never there (...or at least make it look like she was never more than the back of a head). I swear Jennifer Saunders' Sugar Lump Geri gets more screen time in that than the real Geri. Anyway. Does Mel C even know it was photoshopped? I'm guessing not. But to whoever did make the pic...not in love with revising history. I'm perfectly good with the current lineup. Just give me new photos of the current four piece. Pretending Victoria wasn't there for iconic moments? No thanks.

These girls tend to forget what singles they released, so remembering if Victoria was there for a photoshoot or not is out of the question.

May 4, 20196 yr Author Hate this “new” version, omg. Ruins the mood of the video completely. No wonder that wasn’t the final version. I wonder how on Earth the Spice Girls’ team ended up remastering a used version? The original was perfect. That boy’s disappearance is meant to represent leaving behind his youth and innocence. It’s now in 4:3 instead of 16:9, so we see more information at the top and bottom of the screen. It was originally filmed like that, they cropped it for the final version. I appreciate the un-cropping, but not the different scenes. To me it makes it seem like an “alternate” video rather than the official one. Overall, very disappointing.

If that's the route they were going, why not create a tin fairy of the kid?...instead of...y'know...just awkwardly throwing up a still of him? This would have looked sloppy enough in 1998. Now? It's a bit surprising the girls' team would let this out there. Anyway. Unpopular opinion alert. I've never liked this video. Not when it came out. Not now. I've read the director's interpretation. Okay. Fine. But what they did has nothing...nada...zip...to do with what the song's about. The director can say it's about growing up...but it feels like it's about death and grief. At worst, this could be viewed to be about evil Spice Girl fairies luring some kid into their Rubix Cube of doom. But all that said...the thing...as wonky an idea as it may be...was at least competently made...until now...

Even though the concept would still have been quite strange imo, at least it would have looked far better than using the still. Like, he's clearly not been turned into a fairy because he's still exactly the same as before, lol, so I don't really buy this as a "they turned him into a fairy concept". Very poor execution. It's no wonder why they scrapped this particular ending... I wish it hadn't emerged now. When it comes to videos making sense in terms of the lyrics, I don't really mind too deeply when they don't. The majority of their videos don't really have anything to do with what they're singing about, ha.

May 4, 20196 yr I think until we see the final advert we cant really judge, the reunion announcement video the joke was Geri dressing as ginger not in a black tuxedo. This advert might start with them laughing at Geri for getting the dress code wrong again. We know the advert is funny and involves them visiting their biggest fan to surprise him and he insults them when they try to steal his crisps and the whole world is watching on TV.

May 4, 20196 yr Welp. Mel B's in her Scary Spice PJs...Mel C's headed off to Catholic School...Emma's going to a county fair in 1970s Alabama...and Geri's late for tea with Kate Middleton. I snark because I love. Look, as far as I'm concerned, the "we look like we showed up with no utter clue of how the others were going to dress" thing is classic Spice Girls. This is nostalgia right here...and I kinda love it.
