Yeah it is also a sort of Glastonbury thing Hyde Park to be the main headliner is a big thing.

Tbh it would just have been a nice box ticked on their legendary status. I think that is part of the reason they are happy to have the vinyls released of the albums as again it is a bit of a status thing. Atomic Kitten or S club 7 aren't getting vinyl album releases, it just sets them aside from from most of those 90s bands.

They have ultimate final say on any release (which is very rare for a band but then they had a high profile manager before a record deal so have way more control and percentage of royalties than most artists ever will) but it also means they have said no to a rarities album several times.

Hyde Park wouldn't be too exciting for me personally because I wouldn't go, and it's not professionally filmed, so it would just be a case of watching YouTube footage afterwards. Good for them if they want to do it though, hopefully they'll be able to at some point.

Glastonbury would be a lot more exciting because it would be televised! Out of the two events, it would have a much bigger impact on their sales/streaming too.

I’m here for Glasto not HP

Yes to Glastonbury.

This summer they repeated various shows and performances from past years and it gave those artists a chart boost, what with iTunes and streaming

I would die if they did Glastonbury and I'd go to heaven if they did it as a 5piece!

You would die, but you would go to hell cos Vicky wont do it :arrr: But hey at least you will die content :cheer:

They burned themselves with Glastonbury in 2019, they were offered it and turned it down. I imagine offering it to the Spice Girls was a bit of a gamble on the festivals side so to turn it down is a bit of a 2 fingers back to them. I'd be surprised if they were offered it again anytime soon.

Wasnt it confirmed by both Mel C and Emily Davis herself too (Glasto's director...) that they werent offered it?

The rumours came out because they said that they were offered this one big gig which made them decide they went wanted to do a series of shows. And it's pretty obvious that it was Wembley they were offered as they have strongly hinted at that?

Even Mel B who did run her mouth was talking about Glasto this year, not last year. And she only started talking about it because the rumours were quite rife too.

 thanks but I dont click in The S*n links....
Basically it just quotes Emma when she was on the Zoe Ball radio 2 show. Emma said they were offered Glastonbury but we're going to see how the tour goes first.

Thank you.

Strange that she said they were offered it but then Mel C and Emily Davis both denied being offered at all.... My guess is Baby Bunton spoke a bit out of turn and maybe they did have some conversations but not a full offer and decided to go on tour instead... Remember when Mel C was the one that went 'LETS DO LOADS' when the offer to do that one show came in?...Always assumed they were offered Wembley and decided to do a full tour for it.

Emma just mentioned Wannabe’s 25th anniversary next year on Heart Radio tonight. Emma basically hinted it would be great to do the video again - I wouldn’t be surprised if it was to happen.

I have mixed feelings about remaking the Wannabe music video. It's unnecessary and not very creative.

Agree. A totally pointless move. For me, the only recreation of Wannabe that *really* showed their impact, cultural relevance and celebrated the iconic video in contemporary way is this:

True girl power. The 4 of them recreating the video for their own glory is just a bit meh to me...

I dont mind them recreating the video, the original will always be there too. It is the biggest selling girl group song ever, celebrate away girls. The 2nd video will only add more sales and streams to its total. Also you will all watch it if they do do a celebratory video.

Lol I mean I will watch it our of curiosity, sure. But will I support it? Unless it is the best f***ing video ever, I very much doubt I will give two craps about it after watching it once...

Im not a huge fan of nostalgia for nostalgia sake and they have been capitalising on nostalgia for decades now. Like, do something new or interest dissapears, imo...
