So BTS have just performed at the 2017 AMAs. They have a pretty busy promo scgedule for the US whilst they're over there. They have Ellen to come as well Jimmy Kimmel I believe!

 

I think they're popular enough to warrant their own thread away from the K-Pop Appreciation Thread that we have.

They performed with playback, you can hear it better with the rappers.

 

But this was an outstanding performance, and I admire their choreography so much. I wonder if they’ll actually manage to get a genuine hit in the western market

The AMAs staging could have been better for them and I felt like their choreo wasn’t showcased to look as amazing as it usually does.

Their US trip seems to be crazy busy, AMA's, Ellen, Jimmy Kimmel & The Late Late Show plus tons of interviews! AMA's was so fun, can't believe I actually stayed up to watch it with it being 4am here! Really looking forward to the others broadcasting especially as I believe they are performing MIC Drop on Ellen aren't they?

 

Speaking of which... the teaser suggests that the new remix is going to be insane. Gives me Fire vibes!

Everyone raving about their DNA performance but just look at any other of their performances and it’s so much better. I honestly don’t think it’s their fault but the camera work was shoddy and staging was sub par for an awards show performance. The mic levels were all over the place as well. If you want to see a BTS award show performance worth watching check out last years MAMAs.

Also I’m probably one of the few fans that hope they don’t release English versions of their songs, I would rather a new song in English. English versions never compare to the original ones.

I don't want any form of English song by them, their songs sound so good in Korean I don't want that to change. They've said in the past they want to sing and rap in Korean so I hope they don't feel pressured to change that now.

That really is a small percentage of the fans, the majority of them are very respectful. Every fanbase has crazy, immature fans.

BTS and Steve Aoki finally bringing lively dance music back to the US chart. EDM trap is not my favourite dance genre but it is much better than the watered down future bass and tired tropical house that has dominated global dance music recently.

For us it might seem like nothing but for korean idol culture it’s quite shocking, I hope she asked to sit on his lap. I do however agree there’s no reason for the level of harassment she got.

I can't see them playlisting Mic Drop tbh, but at least they are going to give it a few spins maybe.

 

At least it brings something fun to the charts when most chart dance, urban and pop these days takes itself too seriously I think.
