Welcome to my third EOY rundown. This time due to various outages in the year it is only a 50-week period that is counting & as always there will some carryovers from 2016 as the cut-off ended in November.

The rules remain the same as previously, for songs that are equal on points the positions are decided by:

1) chart peak

2) weeks on chart

3) weeks at peak

We shall commence immediately...

100. Offer Nissim (feat. Maya Simantov) - Miracle Part A

Total points: 149

Peak: #2

WoC: 6

Just sneaking into the top 100 ahead of 4 other songs courtesy of its higher peak is this eurodance track from Israeli DJ Offer Nissim. Discovered through BJSC where it finished runner-up in its contest I loved this right from the outset. A great subdued build-up exploding into a euphoric chorus. I've given Part B a spin but it really pails in comparison to this, which was kept off #1 by Clean Bandit's 'Symphony', however like many foreign BJSC tracks it dipped out of the Chart fairly swiftly thereafter.

99. Charlie Atom & Michael Fall (feat. Emma Harrop) - Today

Total points: 150

Peak: #7

WoC: 7

A breezy, summery house track next from Mexican & Belgian producers Charlie Atom & Michael Fall. A shame a vid was never made for this as it could have complemented the song rather well.

98. J. Balvin & Willy William - Mi Gente

Total points: 151

Peak: #7

WoC: 12

The first big commercial hit of the countdown, this was a track I really wasn't all that keen on at first! Eventually it began to grow & then when I went on holiday to Spain in the Summer, well you kinda had to love it. As such it was a belated chart hit which peaked in its first week then gradually slipped down. Although its last minute 2-week re-entry got it over the line to be included!

don't worry I liked Lonely Together but it has missed my top 100 too so not alone there :P

Offer Nissim is pretty good!

Yeah good song but I wouldn't rank it among his greats.

Was gutted when that lost out to a track I found really overrated...

That Charlie Atom song is quite nice! Would have been great in the summer :music:

97. Charlie Puth - Attention

Total points: 152

Peak: #6

WoC: 6

The first of two appearances in this countdown from Mr. Puth who certainly upped his game this year. This is a really slick pop track that deserved better but only made a dent in the Chart for 6 weeks. That's not to say I tired of it quickly, far from it but must've been a competitive period of the year! He would go on to release an even better song afterwards...

96. Lina - Can't Keep Falling (Cahill Remix)

Total points: 154

Peak: #13

WoC: 9

Another Israeli next, well Palestinian-Israeli to be more accurate. The original is a rather nice pop track but it was definitely missing some oomph, luckily Cahill worked their magic touch to turn this into somewhat of a banger. Despite not cracking the top 10 it had a rather see-saw run through the course of its chart life. One third of Cahill of course is Anton Powers who has another song to appear much, much higher up.

Yeah think it was early summer or late spring when I first heard it, a great track to play on a sunny morning!

mi genteeeeeee

Such a tune! Let's pretend the Beyoncé version never happened though (although it least it gave the original a few more spins on the Chart Show :D)

95. Michael Push (feat. Kim) - Run To Me

Total points: 155

Peak: #9

WoC: 9

A song of a similar vein to Today, a light & upbeat dance track but this one did come with a video even if it was slightly mawkish in content. Probably one of the "rarest" songs in this countdown too with not even 1000 YouTube views.

94. Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee (feat. Justin Bieber) - Despacito (Remix)

Total points: 158

Peak: #9

WoC: 9

The official biggest song of the year winds up in 94th. I wasn't really all too keen on the original for this actually & although the later-released Bieber version isn't all that different there was something about his opening verse that drew me in more, hence this was the version that charted.

My favourites so far are Despacito (though I prefer the Bieberless version!), Mi Gente, Miracle Part A, Aide and Lonely Together (#104 wot tho?), great stuff!

93. Pascal Junior - Holdin On

Total points: 163

Peak: #13

WoC: 10

If you like deep house, then this track will be right up your street. From British producer Pascal Junior this would have flourished in the deep house dominance of 2014 but had to settle for cracking the Charts of various Eastern European Countries, oh and appearing here of course.

I sadly never properly loved any of Avicii's new material but this was a clear highlight & another good single. I want another Waiting For Love-style single again as much as it was shame that underperformed my expectations 2 years ago.

92. JP Cooper - September Song

Total points: 164

Peak: #10

WoC: 8

I'm quite surprised this song made the top 100 actually but it deserves it places here nonetheless. Very catchy & singalong track that become somewhat a sleeper hit after featuring on a Now edition many many moons before its official Chart impact. It was also rather delayed for me too, only debuting right at the end of 2016.

91. Katy Perry (feat. Nicki Minaj) - Swish Swish

Total points: 169

Peak: #9

WoC: 9

So after her grand return with the rather unspectacular 'Chained To The Rhythm' Katy went & dropped this! Safe to say I wasn't expecting some tight house production to appear from nowhere but I was on board with this one from the start, with it becoming her first top 10 single on this Chart, although that's a rather misleading bit of trivia as it only pre-dates back to November 2014. Let's forget this mess of a video though shall we?

Tunes in the first section Attention is my absoulute favourite I love it

Swish Swish, Mi Gente and Miracle (Part A) are great too!
