The episodes are just lifeless at the moment. Its hard watching the show decline so much i just miss looking forward to watching it, now i have more of a feeling of oh i have to watch this.

Im really disappointed with John Yorks work so far, i know its early days but he has around 4 months now and there isnt a glimmer of light that it will improve.

The soap awards will again be a disaster for them this year.

I was sleepy again so will need to rewatch that. I didn’t really see what Ian and Robbie did in the end.
I must be the only one who isn't looking forward to Kat coming back. It's been done before.

As if Patrick would just leave that much money lying around, I know he posted it through but surely he knows that's a communal area between them and the Taylors and even if Patrick knew Karen wouldn't steal it, one of the kids could see it or something (or indeed Mitch who did but I doubt Patrick knew he was there). But why not give it to Joyce or wait til you see Ted? More to the point why does Ted always act like a child in a strop? :drama: I still can't believe they axed Pam and Les for these hideous Poundland versions with next to no personality.

Also why even at the ending, do they think people will believe the "shock death" and fall for it, when there was an ad the other day right after the show saying Kat was coming back? I get that not everyone reads spoilers and stuff but it was an advert after the show... It's probably a money making scheme from Mo or something. It says a lot that that was basically all that happened all episode other than a character who's been there 5 minutes leaving.

I can never see Ted and Joyce having an interesting storyline.
John Yorke has axed

Michelle

:o

That seemed kinda like it was coming since that character has barely been used in 6 months.

I’m honestly disappointed. Unpopular opinion it may be, but I’ve loved Jenna Russell as Michelle. There was a lot more that could have been done with her and it seems now, quite a few missed opportunities. The original actress ain’t coming back and I feel a bit sad that this return will be branded a flop by history. It will probably prevent future producers from making such brave moves.

Ridiculous.

Yet another female character axed.

To bring back such an ICONIC character and then do ... nothing just smacks of Eastenders' probles. They did the same with Kathy and to a lesser extent Masood. It'll be the same with Kat and co too.

I hate all these axing happening and then finding out Ted Reilly left of his own accord.

Can they really see storylines ahead for Ted and Joyce?

Chess tournament

I'm astounded that Ted and Joyce haven't been axed yet, although I think John Yorke is so wrapped up in bringing the Slaters back just because he created and introduced them, he doesn't seem that fussed about much else. Just bringing Kat back, as iconic as she is, and adding her family unit around her to stablisie her and Stacey isn't enough. The show is arguably at one of the lowest points it has been and I can't see one family changing that on their own. The Taylors stuff is promising though and I'm interested in Mel and where she could go. Atm it just feels like Yorke is only here to bring Kat back and hasn't particularly tried since he came in as producer apart from the brilliant stuff leading up to Christmas. Since then bar the odd episode it's pretty much been filler.

So Stacey goes from treating Martin like utter garbage earlier in the episode...to THAT at the end? She really is VILE.

Another dreadful episode. We know Kat's alive so scenes with Stacey telling Lilly that she's dead holds no emotional impact whatsoever

Laila Morse is giving Meryl Streep a run for her money isn't she?

I really thought the doorbell was going to go with Kat on her doorstep, with the duff duff coming up  in the end they both shagging in the kіtchen

Vincent

is also leaving. Again, no loss or shock

And yeah this episode was dull as dishwater because we know Kat isn't dead... Literally what is the point other than presumably to get Martin and Stacey back together? If we didn't know Kat was coming back, fair enough, and it was a shock she turned up, but this just feels like all we're doing is filling time for her comeback.

Yeah, I'm finding it hard to invest in these scenes. I mean, I can tell Lacey did a really good job with the material but, as Jase says, they carry no emotional impact because we know Kat is alive. I know we're going to be expected to laugh along when Kat turns up, probably at the wake, but I can't go along with that because I can't see any valid reason for Mo to lie about Kat's death so all I can think about is how cruel that is on those that loved her. Plus, judging from the trailer, the wake looks way too meta; soaps shouldn't acknowledge within the show that certain characters are considered "icons" or "iconic".

Was Mo referencing Redwater with "what happened to Kat". Like, we all know the truth, but just how long ago was Redwater supposed to be if Kat is alive and well?

Although the Jay/Stacey scene was great. Have they ever even shared screen time before?

Phil slamming the door in Mo's face was hilarious.

Also,

Woody is coming back once again for the last time, if anyone cares

Despite my earlier concerns, I do have to say I am very much looking forward to Kat being back, especially now it's just been confirmed

Tony Jordan has written her return episode that airs this Thursday at 9pm!

Half of these people barely interacted with Kat yet they're all doing more than when Abi or Roxy and Ronnie died
