It's ridiculous and unbelievable that Phil is supposed to still be a hard man at his age and taking down men twice his size and half his age. They really need to move his character on from all that.

An episode that was dedicated to three people that are soon leaving.

As if that's it for Michelle! What a complete and utter waste of a character/recast.

I definitely feel like Yorke had no idea what to do with her hence the persistent absence on screen.

I think there was probably a bit of discussion behind the scenes as to whether it would be better to keep the character and fix it or cut all losses and accept that, regardless of characterisation, people would not accept Jenna as Michelle, hence why she didn't appear on-screen for long periods. I actually found Michelle under Yorke's reign improved a bit, certainly more bearable for not whinging and cowering behind people. I noticed she seemed more supportive and rational. However, I can appreciate why they axed her.

 

I thought her exit was decent. Obviously a rushed job but was respectfully done. I liked how she handled the accusations made against her and her goodbye scenes with Sharon. I think that Sharon not having a friend around the house is going to have an effect on her with an increasingly hostile Phil around. Yorke said there would be a big story for Sharon and other forums are guessing seeds are being planted for an alcohol problem storyline. I think that could really work, if played right.

i loved Michelle 2.0 tbh. I think it’s terrible she’s gone and that she could have been saved with some decent material. I guess it’s worth it if it influences Sharon’s storyline from this point on.

It just feels like an almighty waste to recast such a huge character for that stint

I literally didn't like Michelle 2.0 but they did give her some shit storylines which were bad for an iconic character.

 

 

I actually didn’t mind Michelle tbh I liked her friendship and chemistry with Sharon it’s a shame she’s gone so soon .

Yeah, I liked Michelle too. They just gave her the most appalling storylines :(

Michelle as a character was ruined. She was a legend and they brought her back in bad way and she left even worse. They ruined her.

I dont think the new Michelle has done enough to ruin the original character. Maybe its just me but i just dont associate her as Michelle Fowler.

 

The chemistry with Sharon worked but i see her as a new friend rather than a lifetime friend. In EastEnders people become besties overnight and its like they never had friends before!!

You can tell it was a quiet exit as she didn't have any Duff Duff's.

 

I wonder if we'll see Aiden come back on Thursday or Friday for Vincents exit?

The speech she gave at the end was basically their reasoning for getting rid: no family, no job, mp direction. Easier just to get rid.

 

And as I said from the start, good actress BUT she was NOT Michelle.

 

It will be hardi to bring back anyone ad Michelle really as last we saw her she was a rebellious teenager. Having some soft woman on the Tube try to play her was lol

 

We need her back in a few years with a more suitable actress who looks like Michelle

 

 

It's funny cause I feel like they could've cast Jenna as an entirely new character and given her almost identical storylines and the reception would've been better. Obviously the Preston storyline etc was trash from the start but I think the biggest hurdle was the fact that she wasn't the same Michelle. Not a problem for me as I'm too young to know the old Michelle but it's totally understandable really. Such a shame really, Jenna was brilliant and I did enjoy her portrayal of Michelle but I think she was wasted!

She should have been a different character and without that whole Preston thing as she was a good actress. She just wasn't Michelle.

Also LOL at the Will and Grace like phone convo: Yeah car is in PERFECT state.

There was only one thing wrong with this Michelle and that was barely using her. That and the fact DTC did that stupid reveal without her present.

This episode is bloody awful

Ian and Masood's investor interviews have me RIVETED. I can't remember being this gripped in a long time tbh.
