This great post with great Marcello and beautiful Anita Ekberg from Dolce Vita reminded me about great Robbie's live.

It sounds still great since 16 years when I prepared to some exams.

It's shame we have not any videos of this performance. That's about orchestra!

Such a gorgeous song, Robbie delivered it beautifully. Thanks for the reminder. Just wish we had a video as you say . It's a very special perfprmance.

One of the best TV performances by Brandon ever.

Seen it more than 10+ times and still so great like at first time.

I feel a very stong Bruce Sprignsteen's influence here.

Good guys and performance.

I think Mumford & Sons and then The Lumineers stole the audience of this music genre in modern times.

It's getting near that time of the year again so I thought I would play this lovely little tune . I would love to see the song used for a Christmas tv ad, it would be perfect

Love Rudolph -yes it would make a perfect Christmas ad

Look forward to listening to this album again soon

My other favourites are "Yeah -it's Christmas" (an absolute genius of a song) ^_^ , It's a Wonderful Life", "Best Christmas Ever" and "Coco's Christmas Lullabye".

With a special shout out to "Snowflakes" and "Soul Transmission".

It's a great little album with some real gems on. :cheer:

Not interested in the covers though.

Watched some snippets from one of the last U2' tour (The Joshua Tree 30 Years) this weekend and just wanted to admit and remind that they do use a great soundtrack before concerts.

Only great songs and music... I even don't say about great special guest: I've seen Snow Patrol for 4 times, Noel and talented but already ex-band The Hours.

Also U2 has an amazing taste in music what they use as Intro.

I really appreciate them for sharing great songs by others during their shows.

- at Elevation Tour there was The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band

- at Vertigo Tour - Arcade Fire - Wake Up.

- at 360 - David Bowie - Heroes

- While at The JT there was this great song:

I did not know they did those opening numbers for their shows, sounds fab . Did you watch their Innocence & Experience Tour ( Paris 2015 ) , I loved it .

Anyway a hint of some news for next year hopefully. I know I am travelling early next year but their gigs will be spread out over some months so looks like they will be there for a while so maybe I could make it later in the year , it would be a dream.

Bono hints that U2 will play Las Vegas in 2023

It comes after the band were recently reportedly set to be the first act to perform at the new MSG Sphere

The Waterboys 8.4 ml views. Wow ! , great tune

No!

The reason - I have not so good feelings with the Innocence album.

It had been released at the moment (same week) when I broke up with my girlfriend that time. She was a big fan of U2... while I really was in love with her...

So, I'm trying do not listening to this since that time. But I was a big fan of Raised By Wolf song.

So, that's my story :)

INNOCENCE & EXPERIENCE TOUR - PARIS 2015

Source Wiki:

Concerts were structured around a loose autobiographical narrative of "innocence" passing into "experience", with a fixed set of songs for the first half of each show and a varying second half, separated by an intermission—a first for U2 concerts. The stage spanned the length of the venue floor and comprised three sections: a rectangular segment representing "innocence"; a smaller circular B-stage representing "experience"; and a connecting walkway to represent the transition between the two themes. A 96-foot-long (29 m) double-sided video screen was suspended above and parallel to the walkway; the structure featured an interior catwalk between the video screens, allowing the band members to perform amidst the video projections. For the tour, U2's sound system was moved to the venue ceilings and arranged in an oval in hopes of improving acoustics by evenly distributing sound throughout the arena.

The staging is very important for me in a tour , many of Rob's I have enjoyed over the years, it adds to the whole experience

My favourite ever Rob stage/set was the Take The Crown Tour , absolutely loved the circular stage, thought it looked just amazing , gave great scope for movement & great visually for the audience

when I am listening to the songs here i am getting quite nostalgic. I like the killers and Brandon Flowers, many U2 tunes, Oasis, Gorillaz and this kind of music which feels somehow genuine. The other day they played Beautiful Day of U2 as background and I immediately felt good. There are simply songs that can do that.

There are only very few songs of the current artists I feel like that about: Either they sound alike or they have 5 features of people I do not know or they simply do not creep in my heart and mind. I read the other day again about the tiktok algorithm. A song must knock something in your mind within 15 seconds. So these days some songs of for example Queen would not even be listened to. Strange music world. Until now everything had its phase. I wonder if we will have a back to 'quality' music of individuals soon again.
