July 17, 20205 yr a really solid album on the whole, def feels like an album where most of the tracks will grow pretty quickly after multiple listens <3 Flux remains a career highlight  05.5 Start 10 Power 07.5 How Deep Is Too Deep xx Cyan (interlude) 09 Love I'm Given 07.5 New Heights 07 Ode To Myself (interlude but long enough to rate tbh) 07.5 Woman 08.5 Tides xx Wine Drunk (interlude) 08 Bleach 11 Flux 09 Brightest Blue -> the verses are amazing but I need the chorus to grow a lil more xx Overture (interlude) 04 Worry About Me 09 Slow Grenade 07.75 Close To Me 05.5 Hate Me 10 Sixteen

July 17, 20204 yr I had a first listen and it's nice... I even wouldn't have minded some of the songs from EG0 added to the main album The weakest link is clearly the Blackbear track, it's a bad bad song and doesn't fit anywhere, not even on EG0 :D
July 17, 20204 yr Woman is the best thing she's put out in years besides Flux All in all the album is very different to what I expected! Almost Gospel, but very authentic too! Seriously every single single she's put out badly served this, even River! She's using a more mature vocal all the way through this.
July 17, 20204 yr A shady review from The Times https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/ellie-go...album-j733z8nfs I’m listening to this myself this afternoon so I’m excited for the first experience of the album as a whole ^_^
July 17, 20204 yr Wow! So The Brightest Blue side is genuinely so strong and this is exactly the type of stuff I love from Ellie. Start, How Deep Is Too Deep, Love I’m Given are all fantastic. I also liked the title track and Woman. The 13 tracks on Brightest Blues side of the album definitely feel like a classic Ellie album. The second part with all the collabs isn’t really needed they’re not terrible but the first disc is definitely the type of Ellie I prefer. Tbh the decision of this being a double album could be for commercial reasons as the collabs disc will boost the streams of the album it’s nice to have them not disregarded but the first disc is definitely the stronger of the two for me. Overall this album is really strong. I hope people check this album out and aren’t reluctant to hear the album if they weren’t keen on what’s been released prior to release. The Brightest Blue side to this album feels like a natural follow up to Halcyon. I’m a definite fan. I’ll post some rankings over the weekend but on first listen I’m impressed :yahoo: It’s been a long wait and my expectations weren’t sky high but in the end she did deliver on a strong album.
July 17, 20204 yr Love I’m Given is already god-tier Ellie. Was hoping my cassette would come today :(
July 17, 20204 yr I just don't understand how her fans slag off 'Delrium' and 'EG 2.0' and not 'Burn'? I don't get the hate for 'Worry About Me'... it's a great track. As for the album, it's superb... side a is very 'Halycon' inspired whilst side b feels like a play on popular hits now.. saying that 'Close to Me' and 'Worry About Me' would sit quite easily on side a.
July 17, 20204 yr Really strong album! My early favourites are 'Flux', 'Love I'm Given' and 'Tides'
July 18, 20204 yr The best album tracks are Love I'm Given, Bleach and Tides. I love this album more than Devotion but not as much as her first two atm.
July 18, 20204 yr My CD came today. I’m gonna have to be so careful with it as it’s one of those paper / cardboard type cases but it’s nice to have all of her albums on a CD format.
July 19, 20204 yr This album is very good!! Love especially the opener as I am a huge fan of Serpentwithfeet
July 19, 20204 yr Projected for 15-18k in the US, with 7-8k being pure. Delirium did 61k in Q4 so it's not good but not...the most horrific thing ever I don't think? If she gets 18k that's a 70% drop from Delirium, if she gets the same in the UK she'll debut with 11k here.
July 19, 20204 yr Great album. I see a low peak position but decent longevity due to the multiple streaming hits. Maybe similar performance to Rita's Phoenix? Though it would help if she had a current hit.
July 19, 20204 yr you cannot compare the US market from 5 years ago and now plus Delerium had LMLYD, that had gazillions of streaming points counting towards the album Edited July 19, 20204 yr by Bjork
