Black Magic selling 225k is insane compared to the others?

Yeah, I can't remember the last updates we had for every song, but I *think* 'Black Magic' was last updated during the last big sales update in 2018, whilst most of the others were updated as recently as the last year or so.

These are the increases since November 2018 (excluding songs that charted in 2018):

Yikes at 'Oops' outdoing 'Move'! Would have expected more for the latter! Also assumed 'Touch' was their third best trickle seller, definitely wasn't expecting 'Secret Love Song' to do better. 'Wings' is still pretty well regarded despite the rest of their earlier stuff doing much worse.

Seems like 2021 will be a big year for them reaching some more certification milestones.

 

Black Magic will definitely go 3x platinum, I doubt it would shift 50k by July, but doing that would be great for its 6th year anniversary! Reggaetón Lento is also looking at 2x Platinum this year, but will probably take a while.

 

Glory Days is going to go 4x Platinum and Get Weird is going to go 3x Platinum w/LM5 also finally reaching Platinum. Doing this they will tie Girls Aloud with having 5 consecutive Platinum studio albums.

 

With Black Magic going 3x platinum they will be the only girl group in UK history to have two songs reach that milestone.

 

and off the top of my head I believe they are the only female act in UK history to have 11 consecutive platinum singles (Black Magic - Woman Like Me) Rihanna, Ariana, Madonna, Adele and the Spice Girls don't have this, with the latter two being the closest to it. If somehow Adele's Rumour Has It & Turning Tables go platinum, she will match it. A lil useless fact that i'm sure has been said xx

You can make that 12 when Salute crosses the mark, which I would hope might be in 2021 too!

Someone on PJ said for their greatest hits, when Salute, Break Up Song and Sweet Melody are Plat in a year, they should make a Greatest Hits album called PLATINUM and just include the 16 platinum singles (with a new song of course). That would be kinda iconic.

I'd love that but at the same time.. it'd be kinda boring lol

 

If they did do that it would be really cool for them to have remixed versions- like using the heavier, drum based Black Magic they did on the Shout Out tour and their remix of Move they used to do with that extra verse/segment at the end of the song.

 

The new tour versions of Shout Out to My Ex & Power would be cool too. basically just any tour version now in studio quality.

I still wouldn't mind them doing what Olly did... attaching a studio album alongside the greatest hits. 14-16 tracks each side (14 standard and 16 deluxe or something I think he did)

 

But then they could really capitalise and have a 2CD + DVD/Blu-Ray combo and release the LM5 Tour film alongside it (unless they film their current tour - if it goes ahead ofc)

 

But that platinum idea sounds great!

4th Jan OCC gave approx sales of 298k. A week later and it's on 299,123... I am hoping a certification on Friday in all honesty. But next week for definite!
