Liverpool's problems are that the players they have just aren't quite good enough for the club IMO. Downing, Adam, Carroll, and to an extent Kuyt should be squad members rather than starting XI. And as good as Suarez is, his goal to games ratio could be much improved, although I'd say that's more down to the service he receives. The times I've watched Liverpool this season they've been dreadful. Gerrard isn't getting any younger too, Kenny needs to spend and spend wisely. Defensively though, you are more than pretty solid and Lucas has developed wonderfully, he really is a big loss to your season.

I actually feel sorry for Forest, I thought they should have won the play-offs comfortably the year Blackpool went up. With a tiny tweak here and there to the squad that season, I thought you were favourites for the title last season. Sadly, it now seems you're much more likely to be relegated. Bad luck in the Cup too :(

I've watched every game bar 3/4 this season for Liverpool and every game we've played apart from the last few we've been really good. Suarez and Lucas being banned and injured has really not helped as they're our two best players. In all the big games we've played we've been the better team (even the 3-0 loss against Man City). But the squad just lack urgency. Carroll won't make it. Suarez has been unlucky, he's hit the woodwork 8/9 times this season. He was never bought to be an out and out striker. But Carroll doesn't suit his game strength. Our attack is piss poor though. Bellamy and Maxi can't play more than twice a week. Downing is absolutely attrocious. The elss that's said about Carroll the better, and Kuyt just doesn't look anywhere near the player he once was. Henderson's been out best attacking player the past 2/3 games.

Aye, but you still need to get better creative players and an out-and-out goalscorer to complement Suarez. OR sell him to us, and we'll give you Arshavin :D

We're pretty much Tottenham five years ago at the moment. I think we're after both. But it'll probably in the summer we buy. Everyone knows we need a striker, and Suarez being banned doesn't help clubs willing to lower the fee.

Hi everyone,

I'm new to the forum. Hate to rub the Arsenal supporters on here up the wrong way with my first post but as a lifetime Swansea supporter I am still basking in the glory of our last game. God's honest truth is that the gunners were poor. They were illdisciplined in defence and when the going got tough they seemed to lack a lot of fight. Swansea played well but there was very little urgency about Arsenal and they didn't seem to create many chances in the 2nd half other than their goals.

Henry definitely did add a sense of urgency but he came on too late, as did Chamberlain. Clearly a talented team but I think they are carrying a few lazy players.

yOU COULD TELL ARSENAL DID HAVE ARTETA IN OUR LAST MATCH AS HE IS NOW THE ANCHOR IN OUR TEAM ND WITHOUT ARSENAL ARE SCREWED

Hello to you too! :D

Believe it or not, Swansea have been my Champsionship team for the last few years (and now my second team in PL), I love the way they go about their football. And as I already said, I agree completely you deserved your win. Hopefully you can hang on to Sinclair and Dyer, would be a shame if they left now.

there is no way they swansea can keep sinclair possibly dyer but not sinclair

Agree with this. Sinclair will be gone in the summer.

Another problem for Swansea will be to keep hold of Vorm, he has had a good season so far and that will lead to big clubs keeping a beady eye on him regardless of price valuation by Swansea/Swansea statements about him not being for sale.

Hope Carlisle actually play this weekend. My dad travelled down to Milton Keynes and had just parked when someone told him the game was off. He wasn't amused to put it politely.

Liverpool absolutely dire tonight, fully deserved victory for Bolton. For all the criticism Hodgson got for his woeful signings if he'd spent as much as Dalglish would they have had much less than the 35 points they have now? I don't see it to be honest, a very average team. Home cup games against City and United this week will surely make or break their season? Lose both and surely more fans have to start turning on Dalglish? He's started to get a bit of stick lately although most of it I've seen is directed at the players.

Didn't see the game, but not good enough. Too many headless chickens and passengers. Turning on the manager is not the way to go imo. They've spent poorly (mainly Carroll and Downing). Carroll I don't thin will be at the club past the summer. He was a panic buy. The new owners could not sell Torres and not appease the fans by waiting to the summer. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but he will just not ever make it at Liverpool. He's not got the football brain to play in a top side. At the moment Liverpool at Tottenham five years ago.

Hodgson was a different kettle of fish completely, we would have got relegated had he stuck with the club. The guy thought Poulsen was a better player than Lucas to start with. Madness.

Two brilliant games of football today.

Spurs were so unlucky against Man City. They played really well, Bale was electric in the second half. The goal he scored was just sheer class. Everything about it was brilliant. I don't think a goalkeeper in the world could have saved that. Balotelli should perhaps have been sent off - it looed a deliberate stamp, but who knows whether it actually was. But what a world-class penalty he took in the 94th minute, as cool as a cucumber.

Arsenal fans, do you still want Wenger as your manager? The guy has clearly lost it. Absolute madness to take the Ox off and put Arshavin on. It cost you the game. You were looking the better team once you had scored, and then Wenger goes and does that. Van Persie's reaction showed everything to me. Think there's problems in the dressing room there.

Having seen the Balotelli incident several times I still can't decide whether it was deliberate. If the Premier League decide it was deliberate then he will deserve a longer ban than the standard three games.

Tottenham were indeed desperately unlucky. To come so close to a winning goal at the start of stoppage time and then concede a very late penalty was very unfortunate. Sadly their hopes of winning the title must now be fairly remote but they still look like finishing ahead of Arsenal for the first time for many years.

Was a rash tackle by King. Very out of character.

Balotelli wasn't even looking at Parker so I can't see how it was deliberate, he was just trying to keep his balance. So annoyed at how unlucky Spurs were as we could have gone level on points with City after we beat Arsenal.

Mario Balotelli has been charged by the FA over the stamp on Scott Parker

From BBC Sport

Manchester City's Mario Balotelli has been charged with violent conduct by the Football Association following an incident against Tottenham on Sunday.

The 21-year-old's injury-time penalty gave City a 3-2 win, but earlier he appeared to stamp on Scott Parker.

Following a dismissal earlier this season Balotelli faces a four-match ban, but any unsuccessful appeal could result in a longer suspension.

Joleon Lescott will not be punished after a clash with Younes Kaboul.

Lescott caught Kaboul in the face with his forearm in a separate incident at the Etihad Stadium.

Balotelli, who has until 1800 GMT on Wednesday to respond to the charge, came on as a 65th-minute substitute against Spurs.

He was booked for a foul on Benoit Assou-Ekotto, but after escaping punishment from referee Howard Webb following his clash with Parker, the striker was fouled by Ledley King in the final minute of added time and converted the resulting penalty.

If he accepts his charge, Balotelli will miss Wednesday's Carling Cup semi-final second leg against Liverpool at Anfield.

However, should the Italian international decide to appeal he will be available for that tie, with a hearing likely to take place later this week.

The normal punishment for violent conduct is a three-match suspension but Balotelli was sent-off in the league match at Liverpool in November and would incur an additional one-game ban.

Personally I think Balotelli should get a ban for what he did to Parker although he did mean to do it?

What do you think?

Well that's the problem isn't it, nobody knows (except Balotelli) whether it was intentional or not. Cases can be made for an against.

What I will say is Balotelli's reputation has gone against him on this case. With Lescott's elbow that WAS intentional, Balotelli's is a little less clear yet. Yet the former is the one making the headlines (purely because of his reputation) whereas the latter gets away with it really. I don't think they'll appeal, it's almost possible to get the FA dinosaurs to change their mind. I just wish they were so much more consistent. Why no action against Scholes & Lampard for their tackles?

Watching the semi-final last night, I thought there shouldn't have been a penalty for Liverpool. It did however reflect the nature of the first half.

Carlisle away to Hartlepool this weekend.

I dunno. The penalty decision can go two ways. He was unlucky in the fact it hit his foot, but he should not have dived in to the tackle like that. Was suicide throwing your body at the ball like that. I don't understand why people are making such an issue of it either, it's hardly like Man City were done over. Liverpool absolutely dominated them. I just wish we could play with that much discipline against the smaller teams.
