I think it's vital that he does go to be honest, having that unknown quantity is often vital, and collectively our usual wide options have been pretty dire this season. Young started brilliantly but has since been hit by injuries and when he does play he's nowhere near his best, Walcott has been.... well Theo Walcott, frustrating to the max, Downing has become a joke for Liverpool fans, Lennon will never be that good and is totally overshadowed by the rest of the Spurs midfield, Milner isn't really a wide player so much any more, Johnson doesn't play that often. There was a lot said when he moved to Arsenal that if he kicked on Capello will take him, he has and I think it's nailed on he'll be in the squad.

The comments on Howard Webb do make me laugh. At half time and then 3-0 it was all "has Howard Webb forgotten he plays for Man Utd? He's favouring Chelsea", they pull it back to 3-3 and then it's all changed to "of course they came back, Howard Webb was ref"

i can see Mourinho going to Chelsea, was reading about it just now and Abramovich bought him a £2mm Ferrari when he left so they are still on good terms! Or replace Mancini at Man City like he did at Inter a few years ago!!

Mourinho will end up back in the Premier League next season. Mancini is still a man on borrowed time imo. I can't imagine the owners will have been too impressed at their Champions League showing, and if Mourinho becomes available he'll go there, nailed on. He's too big a manager for them to miss out on. A blank check book will suit him massively there. Can't see him going back to Chelsea, although you never know.

I'm use Ox will end up in the England squad, it's just, well desperation imo. England's wide options haven't been great for a while now, and I don't think the lad will change that. It's too much pressure on someone. If he doesn't get a game at all, the media will be going mad. I don't think it did Walcott any good going to the World Cup. Just heaped a whole load of pressure on him.

The difference between him and Walcott is that he'd never made his debut for Arsenal, and had only 23 professional appearances to his name, whilst by the time Euro 2012 comes around Chamberlain will be getting on for 75 apps including 30 odd for Arsenal, he'll also be 18 months older than Walcott was in 2006, that's a big difference.

Wow Spurs were w***. Shock horror their best player can't get in to the game, so they can't create anything. Liverpool weren't much better but at least they tried to win the 3 points.

Anyone that thinks Kyle Walker is a better right-back than Glen Johnson is a fool! Maybe in a few years perhaps, but right now their light years apart. Johnson was the best pkayer on the pitch after Parker.

Sad news about Nigel Doughty at Forest :(
Harry Redknapp officially cleared of tax fraud! Basically a shoe-in for England then. He's not my choice but if people want an 'Ign-el-lish' manager so bad then he's the best option.
I'm pleased he's been cleared really. He is a shady character but I do think it was right here, it was such a completely insignificant amount of money to avoid tax on. He's by far the best candidate too, I don't necessarily agree that we should have an English manager but the overly expensive foreign coaches we've had have done no better than the top English coaches would've. He will come too, keep it ticking over until Stuart decides he's ready.

If Stewart Pearce becomes England manager then we'll never win anything (as usual then). His tactics are terrible. See the Euro Championships for further evidence. Completely out-played, and we had a very very good squad.

And as for Harrry then good for him that he's been cleared. Personally I think he did commit tax evasion. The evidence against him was very weak though, and as a juror you couldn't be certain that he did commit it. Like he said he earns millions. Still doesn't mean you can't commit tax evasion. Don't buy his excuses at all. I thought him and Mandarich were very clever with their stories. They played against each other (probably told to by their lawyers) which would have but doubts in the minds of jurors. But whatever, he's been cleared and should be put in the past.

Capello gone, can't see Redknapp taking it until the season's over, and I'm not sure it would be best to wait until then to have any kind of official role. I'm fairly sure Pearce will be caretaker for the match in three weeks anyway.

He will be on the job like a flash.

The prosecution case was doomed from the moment they declared something Redknapp said to a News of the World journalist was their most important piece of evidence. Interesting to see that Mandaric and Peter Storrie (former Portsmouth chief exec) were cleared of other related charges last year. That couldn't be reported until today to avoid prejudicing the Redknapp / Mandaric trial.

If he doesn't take the job straight away there's only a month or so between the end of the season and the start of the Euros, quite a tight turnaround. Given that situation he is the ideal candidate though since he's managed more of the players potentially in the squad than pretty much anyone else.

If he does leave before the end of the season, can Spurs kiss goodbye to their title challenge? I don't think they'd experience a dramatic enough downturn to miss out on the Champions League but staying ahead of Chelsea won't be a given.

Spurs will be in disaray if Redknapp goes imo. It will give clubs sniffing around Bale & Modric the ideal ammunition to steal them away. I don't think they've ever been title challengers this season, as least not with Redknapp in charge. Personally I don't think he is a great tactician. He's found a style of play that suits Spurs' players, but they often have no plan B or C if things don't go to plan.

Spurs have got Levy in charge of them, and he is a hardball for negotiations. He won't back down lightly and will want a big payout. I expect the FA will want him to work full-time on the England job, but Levy will want Redknapp to at least stay until the end of the season. But what happens if England are terrible in the Euro's? Do they look for another coach? Or do they put it down to Redknapp not having enough time to work with the players? Big decision coming up from the FA. If they choose someone other than Harry Redknapp whose got an English passport then we won't get past the first stage of the Euro's.

We've signed the Beast!

United go top (temporarily, you'd assume) then. Suarez really doesn't help himself does he?

He did nothing wrong. He didn't shake the hand of a man who got him banned for 8 games, big deal. Most other players wouldn't do it either. I don't think Evra wanted to shake his hand either, it's only when Suarez blanks him that he suddenly wants to shake his hand again. Both players have handled the situation really badly. Evra would have been sent off in the first 30 seconds if it wasn't for Ferdinand getting in the way. And he was an absolute bellend at the final whistle. The handshake is a bigger than the football game. Just glad Liverpool don't have to play those horrible bast*rds for 9 months now.

And, who comes off looking like one of the biggest pricks of the day? Alex Ferguson. The guy should be banned for not shaking the hand of a guy who got him banned for 8 games? What a ridiculous statement to make, and he's done nothing to tame down a situation that is already big enough as it is.

The game? Yes, we did deserve to lose today, and Manchester United were the better team.
