April 18, 20187 yr OH I FORGOT GUNS N ROSES!! That changes everything, although I haven’t heard Paradise City in a long time or as much as the other 3 on my list
May 10, 20187 yr Confirmed Hold My Girl will be the 4th single after Shotgun in the Elton podcast Good move. Hold My Girl will hopefully keep the album selling over the Christmas period.
May 10, 20187 yr Nice! Love that track. Though if they're waiting until Christmas to release it then we'll be waiting a LONG time for it

May 10, 20187 yr Great choice, lovely song and going to be a decent album seller. Can't see them leaving it six months between singles to release it though, October seems feasible as it would coincide with the X Factor live shows but I expect it might come out sooner still if they're not fussed about that.

It won't be 6 months? 'Shotgun' still hasn't been playlisted anywhere on UK radio as yet even though he performed it on SLFN a few weeks back, so that will most likely be a late June/early July impact and start pushing 'Hold My Girl' in October for an impact of November. If they really want there's certainly scope to do an Ed and get a new version of Hold My Girl with a featured artist? Edited May 10, 20187 yr by gavindeejay
May 10, 20187 yr Not a massive fan of Hold My Girl. Was hoping Saviour would be pushed in the Autumn. But here for Shotgun to smash!
June 26, 20187 yr Unrelated, but retrospectively 'Budapest' is actually a really pretty song. I didn't really think much of it at the time. I was the opposite, I always remember the first time I heard 'Budapest' on Zane Lowes show and standing up to turn the radio up, one of the records of the decade for me. An absolute classic. George is one of my fav artists now for sure. Staying at tamaras is the best album of the year for me.
June 26, 20187 yr What do we reckon should be the next single, then? 'Pretty Shining People' sounds like a top 5 hit, and if they hold back to October or November I'm sure 'Hold My Girl' would smash.
July 4, 20187 yr Shotgun is up to #36 in Australia iTunes :o Not that it means that much since he’s not even Top 200 in Spotify, but as far as I can remember Paradise didn’t even make it Top 40 in iTunes *.* I just heard this on the radio too... I really hope he can be big again since he’s basically not been heard of here since 2014
July 4, 20187 yr guess he's focusing all his promo in the UK Wanted on Voyage did very well in the US, top 20 with 500,000 sales, Budapest went top 40 but nothing this time, singles have done nothing and Tamaras debuted at #68 or something
July 6, 20187 yr https://www.theguardian.com/music/2018/jul/...hat-i-stand-for A very interesting article where George mentions he thought his career was over after Don't Matter Now flopped, and he had a 'crisis meeting' with his label. Thank God he managed to turn it around! :D Edited July 6, 20187 yr by WhoOdyssey
