Coming in third is Mirrors, the second single from Justin's The 20/20 Experience and chart-topping follow up to Suit & Tie. Mirrors is by far one of JT's better singles and was a big relief to many after Suit & Tie provided a less than amazing comeback. Mirrors also topped the chart in the UK following a live performance at the 2013 Brit Awards, which he may even repeat this year as he is scheduled to perform (most likely Say Something) at the Brits this week. It reached #2 in the US, being blocked from the top by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' smash Can't Hold Us - which is one of the few songs I don't mind beating Justin to #1 :kink: The music video won Video Of The Year at the 2013 VMA's, and represents the loving marriage of his grandparents right up to his grandfather's death in 2012. The video gives the song more meaning, with Justin saying he wants his & Jessica's relationship to mirror hit grandparents' (mostly, anyway) and last forever. My description is short and not too great, but it's a nice music video which suits the song well. I'm a bit annoyed this is came in at 3rd, although the two remaining are amazing too  Also wow at getting 13 10's and 3 11's :o

'Cause I don't wanna lose you now
I'm lookin' right at the other half of me
The vacancy that sat in my heart
Is a space that now you hold

And now...

The moment we've all been waiting for, Buzzjacks #1 Justin Timberlake single...

Is it...

Cry Me A River - Justin's heartfelt banger from his debut album which took the world by storm...?

Or is it SexyBack - His huge come(sexy)back single in 2006... which also took the world by storm...?

Only just missing out on being Justin's #1 single (according to Buzzjack) his JT's huge 2006 comeback single, SexyBack, which very literally did take the world by storm. Despite not being as lyrically emotive as some of his previous singles had been, SexyBack was a pure dance hit produced by none other than the great Timbaland and became one of the catchiest songs of the year (in my opinion, anywho). SexyBack was complete with a music video of Justin basically just dancing around and having fun, and the single itself won a Grammy for Best Dance Recording. SexyBack went #1 all over the shop: UK, US, Australia, Canada, Ireland, Norway, New Zealand, Germany, and was a Top 20 hit almost everywhere else. This surprisingly only recieved 1 11 score, however was given 15 10's and a whole load of 8's and 9's which ultimately gave it the edge over Mirrors - although only by a very very slim margin of 0.05. Whilst I do love SexyBack and it will stand time as being a JT classic, Mirrors deserved #2 (or even #1) much more than this did tbh.

Dirty babe, you see these shackles baby I’m your slave
I’ll let you whip me if I misbehave
It's just that no one makes me feel this way

But with SexyBack out at #2, that only means one thing...

Of course Cry Me A River is first! I expected no less tbh, Mirrors is the only song I would've thought could make #1 but alas it was beaten by the 2002 Justified single. Cry Me A River was the second single from JT's debut. Cry Me A River was inspired by Justin's recent breakup with singer Britney Spears after the pair and even the music video features a Britney-lookalike (although this part his denied by JT as far as I'm aware). I won't really get into too much detail about this because we have all heard this literally hundreds of times, so let's just leave it at that and not discuss this further on this thread :P Cry Me A River failed to reach #1... anywhere... but did have huge success in the UK, Australia, and the US where he reached #2, #2, and just #3 in the US. Again this features Timbaland production who really knows how to make a Justin Timberlake hit, as do The Neptunes. Cry Me A River won the award for the Best Male Pop Vocal Performance at the 2004 Grammy's, beginning his streak of Grammy-award-winning singles after Like I Love You didn't pick up any :P This single also further separated Justin from the *NSYNC gang and even made him mature a little in the publics eye as an adult. Which, at the time, was both a bad and a good thing - it meant *NSYNC had little hopes of a reunion any time soon (or ever :(), whilst also ensuring that Justin did had a prosperous career after the boybands indefinite hiatus. Like I Love You coud've been a one-off hit from an ex-boyband member which sold purely from fan hype (as has happened to many other ex-group members), but Cry Me A River solidified him as a solo artist, pathing a way for his future success right into 2018. I LOVE Cry Me A River personally and am very happy to see it #1.

You don't have to say, what you did
I already know, I found out from him
Now there's just no chance
With you and me
There'll never be
Don't it make you sad about it?

Huge thank you to everyone who participated in this and stuck around for the results which I admit I took too long doing (I've been busy ok, i planned on finishing up wednesday at the latest :P)

Edited by Dexton

Thank you so much for taking this on Dexton! I had no problems with the pacing personally, at least you got them started and finished :D

Such a great catalogue. I expected 'Mirrors' a tad lower as I know a lot of people on here aren't fond of it/are sick of it due to airplay. But I'm happy it came 3rd behind his two signature hits! *.*

Ooh I missed these so thought dump - Excellent and appropriate winner and I have no problems with any of that top 5 as they all still sound great. Bit too low for Rock Your Body though, I'd put that only second to Cry Me a River in my affections, it still sounds wonderful. The features are less good - 4 Minutes and Give it to Me are srsly dull, Signs really should've been in the top 10 though at least it's not Ayo Technology which I'm really surprised made it that high as it's dated terribly! Poor Not a Bad Thing as well, so underrated :(

Thanks for this Dexton! This was a great reminder of how good he can be as we really need that right now with his current output.

Mirrors should have been second .

Great thread 👏🏻

Thanks for compiling this Dexton, and loved your countdown and reveals as well!

great tp 3 and well deserved #1

also great countdown , loed your writings and remarks and pacing was perfect too, well done

Fantastic result, 'CMAR' is a very well deserved winner and basically solidified his solo stardom, plus it helped his debut album hit #1 on the UK charts, still a classic to this day and it has aged really well. Definitely rank this as one of his best as well as my personal fave 'SB' which I gave my 11 to.

So many brilliant singles, it astoundes me. Thanks for hosting this Dexton, I had a blast.

I'm starting to get more into the 20/20 singles since this rate (and his new album)! "Tunnel Vision" and "TKO" are both great.

I wonder how low SoulMate would be here? :kink:

Since this rate I've got a newfound appreciation for Love Sex Magic, definitely would've given it at least a 9 instead of a 6
