I am making a Spotify playlist to include one song from each of the 100. This will be published to widespread indifference.

It’s a final attempt at me predicting for Now 100. I’m assuming we will get the usual 2 discs and that a third will be for greatest hits etc.

In the insert for NOW Summer Party 2018, it says that disc 2 will be greatest hits. That’s gonna ruin the album. They should do it 3 discs and make disc 3 the greatest hits disc and if they wanna include greatest hits, they can at least include hits which only appeared on the HITS series ie “Take On Me” and “I Feel For You”

Perhaps they’ve just run out if songs because the charts are crappily slow.

 

It would be a great opportunity to include artists that have never featured in the main series and are now too irrelevant to appear such as Madonna, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Billy Joel.

I do like a compilation that mixes the old with the new. But I kind of expect it from spin-offs, not the main volumes.

 

I wonder since they're only paying for rights for 22/23 new tracks they can afford bigger songs. Drake, Ed Sheeran, MAAAAAYBEEEEEE The Carters?

Tell me about it. I saw it in the insert for NOW Summer Party 2018. It says disc 1, the latest chart hits and disc 2, the greatest NOW hits ever. Would have been better if they did it 3 discs with discs 1 & 2 the usual latest chart hits and the classics on disc 3

According to the HMV website, NOW Ibiza is due for release on 3rd August

We should be getting the NOW 100 tracklist on Wednesday with the pre-order on iTunes going up on Friday

There will be a documentary about the history of the Now albums on Radio 2 at 9pm on Wednesday 4th July.

I can't see anything else in the Radio Times. There's a new programme called Smashing Hits on BBC4 on 6th July but that's about how 80s British pop music took over the world.

 

With NOW Ibiza, I think they’re copying MOS. Next thing you know, they’ll do a NOW Ayia Napa

Looks like the NOW team have a few No. 1s to put on NOW 100. Freaky Friday (if they can get a clean radio edit), One Kiss, I'll Be There, Solo, and Shotgun. Add in one of Drake's number ones (if he lets them) and they've got a good 6 to fill Disc 1.

 

Plus, now that I think about it. NOW 100 being only 1 disc of chart hits means they'll have more songs to include on NOW 101 during Xmas.

It means NOW 101 will be filled with songs which missed NOW 100 instead of flops in general or flops from #1 albums

It seems inevitable that the tracklist announcement is coming this week.

 

To top it off they’ve stuck an ugly banner across the bottom of the cover to highlight that it’s not just a volume of current hits.

 

 

Is this the point where we all prepare for major disappointment? :huh:

Couldn't of they just put that on a sticker for the CD case or something? I understand it with the download and streaming art, but that will just look ugly
