I think they’ve done a great job with picking Hits for Now 102. Yes there’s a few AC artists on there but I guess people who would buy Now CDs these days would by far be more comfortable listening to them than the likes of Dave etc....

Now 102 has one of the best track listings for a recent Now album. Will buy this one!
I mean I guess they're seeing what drives sales. I dont think CD2 has to be urban, I remember it being almost exclusively dance music at one point. I guess things change.
Now 102 now has 10 'sales' number ones, the most in a while, including the first 6 tracks of disc 1. I wonder if the now team take sales/itunes and what does well there into account when compiling albums.
Interesting how they’ve not said about 102 including six bonus tracks from Now 2 on the advert
I hope they show the original NOW 2 tv advert during ad breaks or get Mark Goodier to re-record it

Both Now 2 and Now 102 is released today.

Which (if any) are you purchasing?

I think I'll go for Now 2 this weekend and get Now 102 later on in the month.

I’ve bought both today. The back cover no longer says “XX top chart hits” which is a good move as it was starting to look a bit more ridiculous with each new edition!
Now 2 arrived this morning. I’m not interested in going further than 100 for the time being.

Track list is out for the latest US release, NOW That's What I Call Music! Vol. 70, which will be out on Friday, 03 May 2019. Side comment: The track list reveal three weeks before the album's release is kinda late, given that they usually do this a month prior.

Here it is, with the track lengths as provided by iTunes/Apple Music:

01. Ariana Grande - "thank u, next" (3:24)

02. J. Cole - "MIDDLE CHILD" (3:30)

03. P!nk - "Walk Me Home" (2:52)

04. The Chainsmokers & 5 Seconds of Summer - "Who Do You Love?" (3:45)

05. Zedd & Katy Perry - "365" (2:59)

06. Sam Smith & Normani - "Dancing with a Stranger" (2:50)

07. Dua Lipa - "Swan Song (from Alita: Battle Angel)" (2:58)

08. FLETCHER - "Undrunk" (3:01)

09. Calvin Harris & Rag'n'Bone Man - "Giant" (3:48)

10. Lil Peep & iLoveMakonnen feat. Fall Out Boy - "I've Been Waiting" (3:50)

11. Mark Ronson feat. Miley Cyrus - "Nothing Breaks Like a Heart" (3:34)

12. Bebe Rexha - "Last Hurrah" (2:28)

13. Imagine Dragons - "Bad Liar" (4:18)

14. Billie Eilish - "when the party's over" (3:09)

15. Kacey Musgraves - "Rainbow" (3:27)

16. Luke Combs - "Beautiful Crazy" (3:13)

NOW What's Next Bonus Tracks

17. The Unlikely Candidates - "Novocaine" (4:03)

18. Grey & León - "Want You Back" (2:56)

19. YK Osiris - "Worth It" (3:07)

20. Jarami - "No Chance" (3:42)

21. Willa Amai - "Trampled Flowers" (3:20)

Total running time: 1:10:14

So, it's back to 5 bonus tracks this time, for a total of 21 songs, although they would've added more if they wished (not! lol), considering the 9-minute empty disc space.

Very good and summery track list, in my opinion. I'd say it fits the poolside cover art, which I also love. 7 songs here also appear on UK's NOW 102. It's also the second consecutive album where Ariana Grande leads the pack, after doing so in the preceding NOW 69 with "breathin'". #YoungArianaRunPop

Currently, my fave track among the bunch is "Who Do You Love?", which I think should've been considered as well on NOW 102. And hey, Billie Eilish is here as one of the main 16 tracks (she appeared on the What's Next section on 2017's NOW 64), as well as the Grammy award-winning US country singer Kacey Musgraves! Lil Peep, the rapper who died in 2017, makes a posthumous appearance here. YK Osiris is in his second NOW What's Next appearance here, after he was featured on last year's NOW 67.

What do you guys think?

05. Zedd, Marren Morris & Grey - "The Middle (Marc Benjamin remix)"

07. Maroon 5 - "Wait (Chromeo remix)"

Four of the songs here - "Ocean", "Rise", "In My Mind" and "Goodbye", haven't appeared on a numbered US NOW album yet.

At least the US are including Billie Eilish and urban artists so why can’t the UK? Let’s just hope NOW 103 is a full album like 101 with Billie Eilish and urban on there and that we don’t get robbed and short changed like we did on 100 and 102
Next NOW spin-off will be NOW 100 Hits Forgotten 80s and will be released on 31st May. I’m hoping to see songs like Alphaville - Forever Young, Psychedelic Furs - Love My Way and A Flock Of Seagulls - I Ran (So Far Away) on there

Different audiences - I can't see the UK Nows going back now. The people that buy the Now albums over here are mostly middle aged people - hence the addition of Rod Stewart, Jack Savortetti, etc. They know their audience.

For anyone interested, we're up-to-date again with our Now sessions on Plug and so will be doing Now 102 this Wednesday from 8pm, come along :)

Trouble is, they're Forgotten, most record buyers won't have heard of them.

Is Forever Young a forgotton hit? It's had loads of use in movies recently - and that's how I know of it.

(and Jay-Z's update Young Forever was big back in 2009)

It’s all about this version
