'blame it on the weatherman' and 'flowers' are such incredible songs, both far too low. i agree that i wouldn't class 'flowers' as a 'girl group' song though and i feel 'to you i belong' would have done a lot better had it made it into the top 100.

At #90 is the first Spice Girls song to drop out, arguably the biggest girlgroup ever! 'Holler' was released as the lead single from their last studio album 'Forever' alongside 'Let Love Lead The Way' and was met with mixed reception at the time. It saw them with a more sophisticated sound and produced by Darkchild, was very R&B sounding similar to TLC & Destiny's Child who were also popular at the time. It was another #01 for them, even if it was a very shortlived one and their lowest selling single at the time until 'Headlines (Friendship Never Ends)' came along. Re-listening to it, I think it is a very good song just not very 'them', which is probably why it didn't do as well as former hits :(.

At #89 is the second single by Russian duo, Tatu! It came after the huge #01 single 'All The Things She Said' which was a huge talking point at the time when they were released - another dramatic and exciting music video accompanied the song helping them get a second Top 10 hit, even if it was fairly shortlived and nowhere near as remembered as their #01 hit. A decent song, but I'm surprised to see it here!

At #88 is the last Top 20 hit ever for The Saturdays - spending a single week in the Top 20 before falling out of the Top 40 a week later, and the Top 100 another week later, yikes! It was released as the fifth and final single off of their fourth studio album 'Living For The Weekend' which also contained their only #01 single - 'What About Us'. The song was a fan favourite off of the album, however it was also their first single to receive no Radio 1 or Capital playlisting for whatever reason, especially as 'Disco Love' which came before it was a Top 5 hit! I think it is one of their most underrated hits, and one I go back to the most, still such a bop!
Holler desvered better you heathens!

Isn’t Latavia a type of yoghurt??

Flowers is an absolute bop, although I agree it’s hardly a girlgroup song

At #87 is another single by The Saturdays - this time the lead single off of their second album 'Wordshaker' which peaked at #02, held off by Chipmunk's 'Oopsy Daisy' at the time which ironically namedropped The Saturdays in the song! It was a fleeting hit, and I'm not too sure why they decided to have this as the lead when they had 'Ego' on the album which I'm sure would've been bigger for them as the lead. It is often well liked amongst fans as it seems them take a more mature approach with a sophisticated ballad. I liked it at the time but it hasn't fared well over time imo.

At #86 is a song that technically shouldn't be here, sorry!! I was misinformed that it was released in the 90's rather than the 80's :'(. It's Salt N Pepa's only entry here and probably their biggest and best known song, often still played out in clubs and heard on the radio from time to time. I always thought it was a #01 single but apparently not! It's definitely a classic but on a re-listen, it drags a little too much and isn't something I'd necessarily want to come back to too often.

Not gonna miss any of those. Especially 'Forever Is Screeching' and 'Holler'. Both down in each groups bottom 2 singles and should not have made the top 100 over some of the songs that couldn't make it.

NGU is good. Not sure I'd place it top 100 personally, but it'd probably end up just missing out or something, so not too mad at where it finished.

Ps- loving the countdown and presentation.

Gutted for Holler as I truly think it's one of Spice Girls best songs, and the highlight of Forever. Also think Be with you from Atomic Kitten is a gem and should be higher!

Las Ketchup – The Ketchup Song (Asereje) - 3/10 - (the opitomy of a novelty song)

SWV - Right Here - 3/10 - (never really rated it back when it was released)

The Saturdays - My Heart Takes Over - 7/10 - (should have been top 10)

HAIM - The Wire - 4/10 - (never heard this until today, not bad)

Pussycat Dolls (ft. will.i.am) - Beep - 6/10 - (loved it at the time, not aged well for me)

Sweet Female Attitude - Flowers - 1/10 - (hated it back then, hate it now)

B*Witched - Blame It On The Weatherman - 7/10 - (Best thing they released)

Atomic Kitten - Be With You - 7/10 - (How is this higher than Last Goodbye ?   I do love Atomic Kitten though, so underrated )

Girls Aloud - Whole Lotta History - 8/10 - (Still one of my favoutite Girls Aloud songs)

Destiny's Child - Bug A Boo - 6/10 - ( Pretty average for me, they have had so much better)

"Be With You" shouldn't be hanging around towards the bottom of the top 100! I thought I'd given it a 10 - it's definitely the highlight of their discography for me.
No huge losses for me so far bar 'Flowers'. Glad 'My Heart Takes Over' tanked, it's hideously dull and I'm still gobsmacked that it made the top 100, let alone beat out 'Disco Love'! Whole Lotta History' is awful too.

Holler is so underrated here. :( There’s songs half as good that are still to come. :drama: Oh well!

Surprised to see Not Giving Up that low. :o One of the best pop middle 8s of the decade tbh *.* It ending below Forever Is Over... :drama:

Whole Lotta History always seems to be under-appreciated (to the extent I was actually a little surprised it made the Top 100 at all). Lovely song!

Forever is over beating not giving up?!?!

A mess.
