At #08 is Little Mix with 'Touch' - the second single released off of their fourth studio album, 'Glory Days'. It was performed on the X Factor upon release alongside 'Oops', this was heavily favoured and soon sky rocketed up the charts without any sort of airplay or video. It has gone on to become a night out staple, especially in gay clubs and one of the girls most infectious songs. It doesn't let up as soon as it starts, it gets stuck inside your head and still sounds so fresh. The video is tacky as hell but it somehow works for the girls. Surprisingly not their highest though as 'Move' is still to come!

At #07 is UK R&B girlgroup, Mis Teeq, with 'Scandalous' - the lead single to be taken off of their second studio album 'Eye Candy', and their biggest hit in the UK as it hit #02 and even made Top 40 in the US! Definetly the girls finest moment with an infectious chorus, slick production and instantly recognisable from that intro with the sirens and 'so so so scandalous'. It's a shame that short after this song that made them huge, they disbanded shortly after - only having 'Can't Get It Back' and 'Style' which failed to set the charts alight :( Still, what a song to be remembered for! I was surprised it did so well in this, but pleased - it has stood the test of time for me.

Just missing out on the Top 5 is the highest entry from Little Mix with 'Move' - the lead single off of their second studio album 'Salute', showing a little more R&B and sophisticated sound with interesting production and structure. Due to this, it had major replay-ability factor and still sounds SO fresh, with a really polished video, this is Little Mix at their absolute best and I always think 'Salute' will always be their best era as it sounds like them at their most authentic. I would love for them to go back to this kind of sound, but I'm not too sure they will :(

Kicking off the Top 5 is Girls Aloud debut single and best selling single, 'Sound Of The Underground' which was released as their winning single following their stint on 'Popstars: The Rivals' where Girls Aloud were actually formed! It doesn't sound like a winners single at all and that's probably what had the girls win with ease and go on to stay a girlgroup classic and a big seller. It's not my favourite by the girls personally but I appreciate it's iconic status and why it is so well loved by fans.

The first of three (!!!) entries in the Top 4 is Spice Girls with 'Spice Up Your Life', the lead single off of their second studio album 'Spiceworld' - it was met with lukewarm responses from critics, critizing the novelty lyrics and use of latin music (?!), it was however their fifth consecutive #01 hit in the UK at the time - something no other girlgroup has ever managed nor will manage in the future I should imagine! Despite the fun, party element of the song it had a fairly dark video inspired by Blade Runner! Still, it is an absolute classic in my eyes and I remember the full choreography like it was yesterday
These results are very unexpected but I am very happy with them .

These results are ridiculous - especially the two LM songs making the top 10.

Hopefully Pure Shores wins (which given the results so far, it wont)

A shock! Spice Girls' iconic debut single 'Wannabe' misses out on the top spot and is at #03. I thought this was a surefire #01 when I started the competition, but apparently not! It is probably THE best known girlgroup song of all time and has allowed other girlgroups since then to do so well! It was originally going to be 'Say You'll Be There' released as the debut single but rightfully so this was pushed instead with a in your face video showcasing the girls personalities perfectly. The song has gone on to be the biggest ever girlgroup song, selling 1.38million copies in the UK and being a huge success worldwide as well. It was an absolute phenomenon at the time, completely inescapable from radio and back when music channels were a thing, it got a staggering 250,000 telephone requests for the video a week! It's hard to imagine any pop act, let alone girlgroup having this much of an iconic debut single and as much impact on the music scene. I'm surprised it's not #01 but it was tight between the Top 3.
Surprised I had the 2nd lowest score for Wannabe. There was definitely a time when I was a kid that I strongly disliked it but I'm quite welcome to hearing it nowadays. Surprising top two too, both feel like worthy winners.

Love Thing was intended to be the spice girls debut single not SYBT

I’m predicting a Pure Shores win

C'MON PURE SHORES, although I do recall a fair few low marks :/ Say You'll Be There is good, but I wouldn't say it should be anywhere near Spice Girls' highest song, if it wasn't Viva Forever, it should've been Wannabe or Spice up Your Life.

Move beating Touch is wonderful to see though! :o I agree that I would love them to do go for that sound again as it suited them so well. Scandalous is also an absolute classic.

‘Move’ is awful, I don’t get what I’m missing? Amazing top 2
Sad that 'Move' missed out on the top 5, but a solid placing nonetheless. Oops at me giving all the Spice Girls' tracks their lowest scores. I was never a massive fan and their entire catalogue has aged horribly to me. 'Say You'll Be There' is undoubtedly their best though so I'm not opposed to it being in the final. Still, 'Pure Shores' to win. Timeless track.
