October 19, 20177 yr Cher is playing Donna (Meryl Streep's character)'s mother *.* Even though she's only three years older than Meryl, lol! Apparently it'll be via a ~60s flashback~ with Lily James playing young Donna. She also confirmed on Twitter that she'll be performing ABBA's "Fernando".
December 20, 20177 yr No one has mentioned ABBA's BEST song not in the first one 'Knowing Me Knowing You'. The first one was crap anyway, so what can you expect from this. It was in the musical actually :magic:
December 22, 20177 yr I’m hoping they’re trying to pull a fast one on us and letting us think Donna is dead. Cause I’m not here for Sophie & The Dynamos.
December 22, 20177 yr The trailer isn't doing anything for me really... Meryl made the first movie what it was so lack of new footage of her makes me really worried, I'm hoping that's just a red herring and she hasn't been killed off or just reduced to a tiny cameo or I'll be so upset  :drama:
December 22, 20177 yr I think it is a red herring being done to get people talking more..Julie Walters uses the words "your mother is the bravest woman" at the start of the trailer as opposed to was the bravest, right?
January 28, 20187 yr Saw the trailer again for this today and I'm kind of shocked at how little excitement I have for this. The first one is one of my favourite movies ever and I could watch A-list actors and actresses having shitloads of fun singing ABBA songs all day but I just don't get why they've done a flashback sequel, who wants that? Lily James is literally the only famous name in the cast from the flashback scenes and it looks like there's very little Meryl too from the first trailer. Getting very worried this is going to be a bit rubbish

June 21, 20187 yr Fernando is out *.* also worth noting is that Cher is apparantly doing a full ABBA cover album.
June 26, 20187 yr I'm so confused by the trailer and poster, there Meryl is featured on the poster but it's as if she's not part of the film really. Is she dead or?
July 12, 20187 yr DOMINIC IS DOING ONE OF US WITH AMANDA OMFG *.* Some really good choices for this; Angeleyes,My Love My Life, Kisses of Fire and The Day Before You Came
July 21, 20186 yr soo.. i absolutely loved this despite donna being dead - it was just camp & fabulous. i found myself enjoying the lesser-known tracks even more than the well known ones because they felt fresher. it's a 2 hour riot, doesn't take itself too seriously, retains all of the tone, warmth & heart from the first.. a really great se/prequel.
July 21, 20186 yr Amazing film, I loved it! I want to say a bit more but I don’t want to give anything away Edited July 21, 20186 yr by Tombo
July 21, 20186 yr I enjoyed this a lot as well, the 2 hours flew by! I really liked the parallels between the two storylines, the music ('Adante, Adante' was a lovely discovery!) and the new additions to the cast. Cher appearing was such a MOMENT *.* There's a sing-a-long version coming near me soon and I'm tempted to go and see it again in that setting :kink:
