Froot for me was the closest she'd came to a solid album, despite smatterings of greatness over the previous two.

I adore the bones of her, so I am much excited by the prospect of another album.

i was saying to lots earlier that you forget she’s only had 3 records (1 of which isn’t very good) but you really ‘stan’ for her

the modern day kate bush

Revisited her 1st and 3rd albums and they are still perfect. Second Era was a miss for me apart from the incredible Radioactive and a couple more songs so I hope she doesn't get back to that.

I'm so ready for new music

Basically what everyone else has said. One was HELL YES and really made me love her, esp Obsessions, Mowgli and Oh No! - second was all Oh No! aside from the magnificent Fear and Loathing which is pretty much my fave of hers now, the rest was just too similar and vacuous. FROOT however was a complete return to form so hoping for amazing things from her again.

Nooo I love Electra Heart, it's actually my fave of the 3, but all 3 are impeccable and I'm really excited for more from her! She's got such a way about her writing that makes her songs so cacthy and poppy but intricate and deep at the same time without ever seeming too pretentious or overwrought and that's so hard to do I think.

Fear & Loathing remains her best though I agree, what a song

‘electra’ is terrible!

she was offered a huge amount of money and made an horrendous record

‘froot’ redeemed / slate / auto-did / frOOt

talent, girls

I love this woman and still find her so underrated generally.

FROOT > TFJ > EH

There have been great tracks from all of them though. These are my absolute favourites (though there are still loads more I like)

I Am Not A Robot

Mowgli's Road

Obsessions

Hollywood

Oh No!

Lies

Teen Idle

Fear and Loathing

Happy

Froot

I'm A Ruin

Froot just works as a cohesive body of work for me. A proper solid album. I will enjoy listening to 'Valley Of The Dolls' tomorrow as my train passes Abergavenny.

I'm surprised at the Electra Heart hate. Other than 'Homewrecker' and 'Starring Role', it's pretty much perfect imo.

Ummm y'all need marinajesus in your lives if you think Electra Heart is terrible. It's one of the best albums of all time (along with Froot and Family Jewels ofc). Every single song is amazing and at least a 8/10 event.

Electra Heart > Froot > Family Jewels

but all three are 10/10 so.

Seem to be in the minority. Like, minority of that minority.

I hated 'FROOT' so much (but absolutely adore her first 2) :( . I've only listened to it twice. Once coz it was released and again just to see if it really was as disappointing as the first listen seemed to be, to me. I've literally not listened again since release week, I'd imagine. 'I'm A Ruin' though

But the other two are seriously good. Extremely surprised by the disdain towards it on here, as I remembered it to be quite a popular/well liked album on here. :(

Excited now though. I think that break really helped me miss her more coz I lost interest after 'FROOT' for a bit.

Electra Heart isn’t terrible but it’s easily her worst album. It’s full of Diplo and alike reject productions as Marina expressed years later, because she wasn’t big enough to get the top priority work from any of the big producers she’s worked with, even though at the time she was chasing hits, which is why the album comes across as quite messy. Froot and The Family Jewels displayed a lot more creative freedom.

Electra Heart has great highs in my opinion. 'Starring Role' 'Primadonna' 'Teen Idle'. 'Radioactive' was WONDERFUL.

However Froot really was everything. 'Blue' is a 13/10 no mistake.

Where did she express this? I'd like to see it. I know in her Oxford speech shes critical of the Electra Heart era.

Electra Heart is definitely my favourite album of hers! The Family Jewels a comfortable second and Froot is easily last, I just couldn't get into most of it, so disappointing.

She’s expressed it a lot - in a lot of then FROOT promotion interviews particularly!
