I had read it was around a good while before Dannii added her magic to it, it really did open the doors for Dannii and helped set up all that was to come with Neon nights

 

It was Pete Tong who suggested sending WDYLN to Dannii .

 

It was a good call by Pete, the sound was perfect for Dannii and i always felt this and Neon Nights era was when dannii finally found a musical home that really suited her and played to her strengths, it was a huge shame it didnt continue much beyond neon nights, dannii has always suffered from been with the wrong label.

Was "Creep" supposed to be the final single from "Neon Nights"? It's the only album track on the deluxe edition that's remixed, so I assume the original plan was to release "Creep" as follow-up to "Don't Wanna Lose This Feeling", but then the chance called "You Won't Forget About Me" came along and "Creep" was dropped. Right or completely wrong?

No, It Won't Work Out was proposed as the fourth single - the single mix actually appears on Unleashed:

 

 

I'd assume Creep might've been in the running with Put the Needle On It since both are sonically similar. Any plans for it to be a single was probably dropped after Put the Needle On It went in at #7. IIRC Each Finger Has An Attitude was the suggested b-side as it was supposed to be in a KitKat commercial:

'You Won't Forget About Me' was from a whole different era and new record label, over a year later.

Love the version of IWWO on Neon Nights and gutted it is not

on digital platforms.

Thanks for letting me know! I'm glad they didn't release IWWO. It might not only missed top 10, but also top 20. Maybe a great music video or another mash-up would have helped back then, but the single version alone is too weak and would have hurt Dannii's comeback chart run.

 

Can't really see what they could even do for #NeonNights20. Bless them, but they've truly milked this album dry.

They can give creep, mystified and vibe on their time to shine :)

Always here for any updates and reissues but we really have had it all now for NN - coloured vinyl etc and there is nothing left to raid from the vaults.

 

I’d much rather we had a UK update of the ‘Girl’ vinyl release!

Creep and Goodbye song were right there as singles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

Hope she does a 2 -3 night show for Neon Nights where all the tracks are done.......wont happen but!

^ Goodbye Song is too barebones of a song; it has funny lyrics but I don't think it has much else going for it.

They probably thought Creep was too sonically similar to Put the Needle On It and when it "only" got #7...
