That Calvin song is one of the worst I have ever hears

It even has the generic dance basic production beat at the beginning of boo chee boochee boo chee. Absolute CRAP down there with Need Your Love over a boring dance meaningless beat.

12. Make Your Own Kind of Music - Paloma Faith

22. Stop Me from Falling - Kylie Minogue

24. No Roots - Alice Merton

30. Love Lies - Khalid & Normani

32. Zombie - Bad Wolves

36. You're Not Alone - Astræa

40. Call Out My Name - The Weeknd

47. I Like It - Cardi B, Bad Bunny & J Balvin

63. First Time (feat. Medina) - M-22

64. Answerphone (feat. Yxng Bane) - Banx & Ranx & Ella Eyre

69. Don't Give In - Snow Patrol

71. Flames - David Guetta & Sia

75. Make Me Feel - Janelle Monáe

81. Fire in Me - John Newman

85. Colors - Jason Derulo

96. Hard 2 Face Reality (feat. Justin Bieber & Jay Electronica) - Poo Bear

98. Follow Your Fire - Kodaline

It's a shame the new Snow Patrol song isn't taking off. I hope the album can do ok for them after such a long time away.

I don't agree, it isn't generic at all imo compared to the likes of 'Lullaby'.

ok, name one hit song from the last 12 months that sounds similar to it

There have been 7 series of The Voice UK. In terms of solo releases, The Voice UK contestants have had a grand total of 2 top 10 singles - both covers - and 2 top 10 albums. The last artist to get a top 10 album was Andrea Begley, back in 2013.

There have been so many incredible acts on the show through the years - Bo Bruce, Vince Kidd, Leah McFall, Stevie McCrorie, Mo Jamil...then there is Kevin Simm, who had success before he went on The Voice UK. His lack of success after the show (his album missed the top 100) can't be down to the artist, surely, as he has a proven track record. So what is the point of the supposed "coveted record deal", when it doesn't even equate to 5000 album sales for most of the winners?

I could go on YT and fine HUNDREDS of beige dance tracks with that EXACT SAME beat, boo chee boo chee boo chee.

Go for it :)

For anybody interested, Astræa's "You're Not Alone" is the song played in the latest Lloyds Bank ad and is a cover of Olive's 1996 classic which is one of my fave all time records

Thats just a house beat I think you are describing  There has been a similar styled beat like that in house songs since the 90s at least!

Has anyone else noticed that ed Sheerans cover of CITW is now an album-only song which means you can’t buy it individually, watch it plummet down the iTunes charts tomorrow, or it could just be a mistake
love the original You're not alone by olive, this cover is not that great, buy the original people ;)

I'd rather buy the 1997 version that made it to number 1, it's better :P

You’re right, it’s because the record label seemingly give them a tiny budget, which means they come out with music that makes no sort of statement whatsoever. Kevin Simm was incredibly talented on the show but his lead single was just some random album track anyone would fail to recall. They need to invest and hire good songwriters and producers because the material that is coming out at the moment is so forgettable that I’m really not suprised its being glanced over.

The only time a single from The Voice act has actually stood oit (aside from Becky Hill) is Leah McFall’s Home but for some unknown reason Radio 1 decided not to support. The fact Radio 1 has only supported one single (again aside from Becky) from The Voice is ridiculous, and even then, the single (Worry About You - Tyler James) was the second single AFTER the album had already flopped due to a lack of support. I will never understand why they didn’t get Radio 1 to support the relevant Voice acts when it was on the BBC. If you make the acts successful, you can have a more successful show! I remember at that stage as well they were supported any and every X Factor act.
