April 9, 20187 yr I'm not the only person commenting on your posts but go off. No but the only person posting about me. Maybe I should release an album with 67 editions too.

April 9, 20187 yr Kylie has just added 1,000 signed cassettes to her store. So hopefully these 1,000 items will be snapped up and added to her sales the week and also the cassette not signed is also available again so must have done another run of 4,000 copies
April 9, 20187 yr If Kylie has added more cassettes it would indicate the original run has sold extremely well. Every sale will count this week in her battle for number 1. A position this album deserves.
April 9, 20187 yr It's interesting people argue that streaming shouldn't be included in the chart even though it's an indication of actual consumption, but we have thousands of cassettes being released this week clearly as a fan novelty that are counting towards the chart - what % of these cassette purchases will actually be listened to? :P
April 9, 20187 yr Cassettes are on the comeback Nice article https://inews.co.uk/news/kylie-minogue-gold...ic-fans-rewind/

At least Kylie fans are actively purchasing stuff, going to shops, online and choosing what they want/don't want...... :P I don't like the way the charts are these days but have to put up with it..... April 9, 20187 yr It's just a bit of memorabilia for hardcore fans, it really isn't that big of a deal.

I dunno what I think, I just remember thinking back in 2005 that all the Elvis re-issues should've been NCQ.
April 9, 20187 yr Christ alive, if Kylie was selling poorly peopel would be attacking her for flopping. But she is doing well with a few different formats (which she isn't the first person doing by a long mile) and people are attacking her. She can't win. This is why the chart forum is generally a cesspit. Who gives a flying f*** if she has several formats? It's not like she is holding you at gunpoint to buy them all. I only have the deluxe CD and vinyl. A casette is a nice nostalgic thing to have especially from someone who started her career when they were mos popular. Different vinyls look nice on display, if you have the money then by all means buy whatever you want. Buying different formats is not different to people who sit and stream the same song over and over day in day out.
April 9, 20187 yr At least they are genuine sales which should count to the chart whatever the reason people buy them. Multiple editions have existed many times in the past for lots of releases. 20 years ago it was commonplace for there to be CD Vinyl and Cassette versions of an album and fans would buy multiple versions. Sales only count as one sale no matter how many times someone plays the record/track. Whereas 150 streams count as a sale - so someone streaming a record over and over is buying a record multiple times which they would not do (yet they could be playing the album less than someone who downloaded it or bought the CD). Streaming towards the sales chart should only count as one sale per user account - no matter how many streams/plays. If they did this the charts would be much better representative and fairer.

April 9, 20187 yr Kind of gives you the sneaky suspicion that some people are opposed not to the idea of streaming being in the charts, but instead to the fact it happens to benefit music that isn't to their taste  Bingo! Also if Drake or Ed were releasing an extra 1k copies of a cassette signed to maybe push them to number 1 this forum would be fuming.
April 9, 20187 yr Not really, it wouldn't bother me. But assume about this forum all you like. I am all for streaming being included as well, I was dubious at first but I've come round to it now. It's how I consume all of my music anyway.
April 9, 20187 yr Bingo! Also if Drake or Ed were releasing an extra 1k copies of a cassette signed to maybe push them to number 1 this forum would be fuming. I am surprised Ed hasn’t tbh. All his albums are colour coordinated so would look cool having an orange, green and blue cassette, not to mention his fanbase are so broad in age range there would be plenty that would appreciate the nostalgia element of a cassette.
April 9, 20187 yr And if CDs singles where the norm still then Kylie would be top 40 every week in singles chart.......... basically people where upset they ran out of cassettes so she restocked........ and people bought.... its £7! Its a form of music..... it can still be played......
April 9, 20187 yr Bingo! Also if Drake or Ed were releasing an extra 1k copies of a cassette signed to maybe push them to number 1 this forum would be fuming. I said to another mod 30 minutes ago that you'd post 'If Ed Sheeran added Cassettes to his first chart week you'd all be fuming'. Well done for being so predicable. Ed Sheeran uses loads of different sales tactics and sells 10x more than Kylie and bar some eye rolls, nobody seems that bothered.
April 9, 20187 yr Dancing is #16 in the singles midweek chart :) was it 22 in midweeks of first week? and finished 47th its holding up well on iTunes and is being streamed more this week than the rest of the first week so could hold on to 39th or 40th position......
