I believe the DVD will easily remain top 5 if not top 3 for this week.

Do we know what the average Number 1 music DVD sells?

After 1 week the live album has departed the Top 100 albums.

The DVD drops to number 7.

I did originally believe the DVD would safely stay top 5 this week.

The album fell to #197, with 755 sales. That takes its total to 4,296. In the sales-only chart it’s gone 11-84 / physicals chart 11-71, so that certainly shows the impact that streaming has in the official albums chart.

Live CDs are relatively niche (certainly for pop acts) so it’s done well enough for them - it was never destined to hang around.

A lot of live music DVDs/Blu-Rays don’t sell in massive quantities either. #1 will have been more than helped along by the months of built up pre-orders, whereas the second week would represent casual fan purchases. Certification levels for music DVDs are 25k for gold and 50k for platinum. Unfortunately I can’t find out how their previous releases did because the BPI site isn’t loading the history for music videos!

To my understanding some of their previous DVD releases have sold extremely well.

The live album did reasonably well for what it is, and likely will end up with total sales of 10,000.

Seeing the numbers has made me realise the impact of streaming on the album chart.

The Greatest Showman and Ed Sheeran for example were gaining a lot of extra sales due to streaming but i didnt think streaming played such a major role throughout the entire album chart.

These days, streaming has quite a significant contribution in the album chart overall, particularly lower down! There's a lot of albums that sell very little on physicals and downloads that are maintaining a near constant presence within the Top 200 albums chart because they achieve good streaming.

Here's an extreme example - Jason Derulo's Platinum Hits only sold 22 physicals (2.28%) and 2 downloads (0.21%) this week, but racked up 939 streaming sales (97.51%). That comes to 963 sales overall, to be #134. It's spent 85 weeks in the Top 200 and has sold 92,401. I don't know what the breakdown of its total sales are, but it's evident that the majority of it is streaming. It won't be long until it's Gold, despite the fact that very few people actually bothered to purchase it.

Steps = 3.58% streaming (27 sales), 4.50% downloads (34 sales) and 91.92% physicals (694 sales) = 755 sales.

Most of the live versions are wonderful.

That said, Stomp is a bit shaky in the opening but the vocals improve as the song progresses.

The live cd format of this i loved and still do, and i wouldn't say no to them doing the the same type of release after the next tour, i know back in the day they weren't renowned for singing live at concerts but this time round i think have delivered strongly vocally) on the live performances.

This tour was amazing, Vengaboys were the perfect support act too!

It was my first time seeing Steps and hopefully the first of many, my third time seeing them is hopefully gonna be later this year

Vengaboys were a good choice i agree, i think them releasing the live cd and dvd of the tour showed their confidence in the delivery of everything live.
Vengaboys went down brilliantly at my date, one of the few times I've experienced a crowd being highly enthusiastic for a support act!

Who doesn't love the Vengaboys though! So Nostalgic!! Boom Boom Boom Boom :dancing:

And the big jiggly boobs in We're Going To Ibiza :yahoo:

Vengaboys were an ace support act they were nuts for them in Leeds, quite a few people were saying they were better than Steps (which was a load of rubbish of course).

Blue another great support act, I was gutted they weren't in Scarborough however Sister Sledge were also really good. I'm looking forwards to Sophie Ellis Bextor too.

They have some great support acts, vengaboys, blue and sophie all have songs i really like but vengaboys i would have liked to have seen the most.
Was watching this dvd the other days and thought it was a bit annoying you don’t see the dancers in the corners dressed in the costumes during the song... I thought this was so lovely during the show and very emotional!
