In many ways its starting to look like its now only a half hearted single release with not much thought put in to gaining any traction.

I reckon they must have at least one performance of it somewhere planned, but I guess the whole idea is it'll keep the album afloat for the duration of its Radio 2 playlisting.
It's not uncommon for artists in a similar position to Kylie to have their third and fourth etc. singles be more radio focused and mainly be there to keep the album selling. I do hope there's a performance planned though, I know we received a few performances of 'Golden' around album release but it would be nice to have one as part of its single release.
BMG know the chances of a hit with a 3rd single are slim to none so they are clearly only doing it so they can get airplay and TV promo to chase album sales - that being said I hope they give us a remix package at least!

I understand that a 3rd single for artists of Kylie;s genre are largely ignored and not a huge level of promotion etc goes into such a release.

That said, a single at the least needs some promotion to get unnoticed otherwise it stands zero chance of doing anything including attracting album sales.

People need to know the songs exists for it to help the album sell.

Since the album is climbing for the second week in a row the single kind of works to increase sales.

For awhile I thought that Jack Savoretti duet could be single number 4, but now I think it's too close to "Where The Wild Roses Grow" and people would compete it to it saying it's worse, so "Music's Too Sad Without You" could backfire as a single release... Maybe Kylie gets her wish and "Lost Without You" will be her next single.

I don't agree with that, I've never really seen anyone say that either. I think it'd be a marvellous choice for 4th.

I'm so out of date with the charts and new music this year, only just heard Golden too, but it's fantastic, should've been the first single maybe?

Really?

Airplay doesn't seem to be doing much for the single - only #986 on iTunes. I hope it can help the album out, but I'd like a TV performance to give the song a boost too.

Radio 2 rarely boost singles that much but it’s definately helped with the album - we need at least SOME promo for the song though!

With the album likely to experience a minimum 10 place drop this week, the single itself isnt doing a whole lot to sell the album.

Honestly, what do we expect when there is next to no promotion for Golden the single?

Even Kylie in her charting hey days would need to go to multiple shows to perform the song for exposure.

Ya she always promoted her singles but I suppose they know the chances of a third single doing much nowadays is slim to nothing.
I do feel at least some promotion should have gone into the single.

Just a wasted opportunity to sell the album - ‘Golden’ was never going to be a hit single but just releasing a video isn’t back enough to generate album interest.

Clearly when we see how fast the album is falling this week.

The jack savoretti duet has to be the next single with lots of promo and it should help the album.
