So will both teams drop points in the run in Rooney? 😜

I think we'll both drop points somewhere, but if we do manage to beat Chelsea next weekend that is absolutely massive. Still ages to go yet and if both teams progress in the Champions League that could have a major affect.

City are a more complete team than Liverpool, but I've never seen City put under any immense pressure yet this season. Be interesting to see what happens if they go a goal down during any of the these games coming up. Their Premier League fixtures coming up now are pretty brutal. I think what we are seeing though is two great teams - it's unheard of for 2 teams to be on course for 90+ points.

Has it ever happened before?

Not enjoying watching Liverpool these days lol each Thursday I get all nervous and like my stomach is turning thinking of watching the 90 mins, my wife laughs at me as I sit forward in front of the tv as she sits behind on the sofa 😂

Good to see Salah getting his goal, Great finish. Fermino the most important part of our attack imo thoigh, another assist tonight and created space for Salah to finish!

I don't think it has, it's not even that common teams get to 90 points in a single season and win the league. Certainly usually 50% of the time, between 85-89 points will win you the league.

It's very nerve wracking watching us play, but it's also fun as well. Will truly think we are cursed if we end up with 97 points and don't win the league, but it's brilliant to watch and you sense City fans just don't get the same feelings that we get! Salah's goal was unreal - I thought it had taken a deflection initially, but nope, he just hit the shot that well.

It will happen lol, 97 Pts and runners up!!

Chelsea at home next weekend again... must win with our history with them. Everyone saying our run ins easier, it isn't. Cardiff away tough and city away to palace isn't as bad as most think, Hodgson has them playing in a way were they are better away from home and it was no surprise they did well in the Etihad!

There are no easy games at this stage, but I'd say our run-in is far more favourable. The problem we have is most teams seem to raise their game against us while they practically believe they are beat before playing City. Palace are at home but the pressure will be on City to attack - they'll soak up pressure and look to have Zaha in space. I still think City would win, but they'll pose more of a threat than Cardiff/Fulham.

Think City's midfield can open up teams a lot more than ourselves!

They just play in a different way to ours - they're more comfortable on the ball and are willing to be patient to wait for spaces, whereas ours play for the transitions and with every attack we look to score. City are happy to wait with the ball and wait for the spaces. It's why they can just dispatch the awful teams so easily - they usually score the same type of goal with every pattern of play.

I'd be really interested to see what happens if City aren't winning after 10 minutes in some of these games coming up, they looked terrible today in the 2nd half against Brighton.

Honestly can see Man U taking a point off City.

Really? I hope so, but there is going to be such a strange atmosphere that game. I know the Man Utd fans here want them to win, but from a few I work with and if you have a look at their forums the majority of them would rather lose as long as Liverpool don't win the league. How the mighty have fallen :D

In a perfect world we win the CL so where we finish in the league is irrelevant (AND we steal the spot from 4th place).

In a probable world we have to throw everything at City (as we do all our remaining fixtures).

But that's where I think the problem lies - genuinely I think a the game at Old Trafford will be so strange. Half the fans will want to win, but half of them will not be fussed if you lose. It will very much be like Everton vs Manchester City in 2014, although more a 50-50 split rather than a 90-10!

Well it'll also depend on the outlook when that game comes around. Any of the other 3 could have dropped points in the preceding matches, so the "must-win" factor won't be evident until the very day itself. Arsenal also have "giant-killer" Wolves away at the same time to something else to have half an eye on. Certainly will be a fascinating evening!

Top four is a must for Man United and their supporters this season, I’m sure Ole would rather finish fourth and attract bigger stars next season to champions league football and I can see the battle between third - fifth going down to the wire like the title race. I think United will see the city match as a must point game.

Arsenal are currently losing against Everton, credit to Silva, he’s truly started picking up results since chucking away a two goal lead against Newcastle United.

Tottenham 64Points

Arsenal 63 Points

Chelsea 63 Points

Manchester United 61 Points.

Chelsea and England footballer Danny Drinkwater has been charged with drink-driving after a car crash.

The midfielder was arrested after a Range Rover crashed in Mere, Cheshire, in the early hours of Monday.

Leicester have been charged by the Football Association for the way their players reacted to Huddersfield being awarded a penalty on Saturday.

Referee David Coote gave a penalty for a foul by Caglar Soyuncu on Karlan Grant and a number of Leicester players protested by surrounding the referee and remonstrating with the linesman.

Neil Warnock has been charged by the FA over controversial remarks he made about Premier League officials who oversaw Cardiff City's defeat to Chelsea.

Looks like following that injury that Harry Kane will not play for the rest of the season.
Spurs seemed to play better without him earlier in the season, which was quite annoying. Can't see it having much of an impact on the top 4 battle because of that.
If Cardiff get a result against Brighton midweek, I'd back them to beat the drop at Brighton's expense. There's always one team every season that is "never in danger of the drop" that hits freefall at the wrong time, plus their fixtures are horrendous.
That will be a crucial game between Brighton and Cardiff. Not a good day for Brighton today.
