I mean the last time I remember a very famous musician who was also a woman beating homophobe was shot and killed out in public, he spent 7 of the next 10 weeks at #1 in the UK with 3 different singles, with him, his music and his outlook continuing to be worshipped to this day.

Yup and its top 100 on Spotify; from an I-tunes perspective there hasn't been a drive, there's no radio play, video play and little promotion outside of Spotify.
