Your constant Sharon put downs are almost as boring as any chess scene this year.

YOU SHARED THE MISS PIGGY COMPARISON!!

And you were spot on btw! That's what we all say whenever she appears on screen

I did, the whole picture was amusing despite me actually saying that I hate the Sharon comparison. But of course, you just zeroed in on her because it seems to be a hobby of yours to take down the looks of a 50 year old woman. I mean you could have just posted a  at the picture but instead you went full in on Letitia Dean AGAIN.

Because I did find it funny despite my hatred of the comparison. I didn’t go in and say ‘omg Sharon looks exactly like that!!!1!1’

Stop making it about me.

Quite unrealistic for Martin to think prospect of Sonia might entice Stacey to his reunion.

What a shame Nicki DiMarco and Asif Malik couldn’t make it.

Literally listened to The Kick Inside just before watching tonight's episode where it was referred to.

Good episode! I liked that it followed just one storyline and looked at it from different perspectives. The Stacey/Ruby scenes at the iamspamspamamitable were very understated and felt real as a result.

I haven't watched for a while

From which episode do I have to start watching for Ruby Allen's entrance and on?

I think this rape stuff has been well done but the problem is the setup. Ruby literally just turned up the other week and was little more than an extra. This is a Girls we saw for 18 months over a decade ago. She returns without a bang and after less than 20 minutes of screen time, she’s part of this massive story. We also only just met Martin’s mates and have less attachment to them than we do with Ruby. I think we should have gotten a few weeks to know all these characters first before this storyline began.
I wonder if that's part of the point. It's a story of consent and attitudes towards rape and that's been show through Martin and Stacey, characters we do know and care about. The fact the audience barely knows Ruby or Martin's mates, and indeed Stacey and Martin barely know them after not seeing them for over 10 years (15+ in Martin's case), seems to reflect the way we often hear about rape; it appears in the news all of a sudden and we have no knowledges of either party's side of the issue other than what's presented to us. That does make Ruby little more than a plot device and I don't think this set up is perfect, but that's the reasoning I came to.

I had thought about that but then it does make it feel like this storyline is plot driven rather than character driven. Ruby, despite her history, is barely being used as a character in her own right but rather a plot device to cause tension between Martin and Stacey. I do think that the man involved should have been someone we know like Asif Malik (would it have been that difficult to get him back?) so that the story could be the two sided one they’re going for. As is, we as an audience have no doubt Ruby was raped because we know her as a character and this Ross in particular is such a shifty knobhead that it’s hard to sympathise with Martin in this situation. If it was someone we’d actually seen on screen with Martin years ago that just returned, it would be easier for the audience to take his views into account.

I agree it should've been a character we actually know - dare I say even someone like Kush? The fact we don't know these guys and they're pretty unlikeable in their only episode on screen makes it all just feel very one sided when I think the point was to try and see both sides of the consent issue?

WHY? Mick is going through hell in prison for a crime he didn't commit... yet as soon as he's out, he risks going back by actually doing what he was sent to prison for? More stupid Mick being stupid, and this is likely our Christmas week.

It’s almost like Danny Dyer is writing the scripts now.

Dot and Mariam returning in the same episode was giving me life.

Loved Kim telling Keanu she might need another ride *.*

Sharon referencing the time Sonia soaked her *.*

Tbh as if anyone hasn’t figured Sheanu out yet. If they’re no shagging, they’re standing around chatting in broad daylight. Often in her house.

I loved Stacey’s scenes tonight. Brilliant writing and acting.

I'm glad they are straying away from the Carters at the moment, as I'm sick to death of their long winded storyline, got a funny feeling that story comes to a conclusion round about Christmas and the new year, when we usually see someone going out with a sudden death.

Seeing Dot back felt next year could be her last year in Eastenders, I know we don't see much of her but it seems to be heading that way given her storyline of her trip to the Doctor.

So Jean sees a photo of Kat and Alfie with their kids in January and from that she guesses the truth?
It did feel like quite a jump from a simple mention of Spain  It could've been any random guy in Spain....

Omg ikr, the way she acted like it was a certainty as well

Mariam could be a great supporting character if she didn't feature so sporadically and the scenes she did feature in were like those with Hayley tonight and not in comedy scenes with Masood. I'm guessing the actress may have taken time out for reasons unknown to us so hopefully she'll appear a bit more regularly from now on.

I had a suspicion tonight that Jagger was the one who discovered Sharon and Keanu as he either directly or indirectly has beef with them, but then again Sharon wouldn't have his number.

Eastenders 2018 has focused very heavily on the relationship between Jean and Hayley but I'm hoping Jean's discovery makes her remember her relationship with Kat.

Scene in the club was great. I quite liked that the writing didn't shy away from referring to Stacey killing Archie. Obviously she's full of regret over what she did and we can sympathise with her character, but the show shouldn't pretend it never happened.
