Gillian seemed so appreciative and thankful for her award at the Soap Awards.

She looked genuinely shocked and unprepared for a win.

Came across extremely humble.

what a turnaround since kate took over, a totally different soap!

the trailer suggests brilliant times ahead

Lots to digest in that trailer! I had to watch a few times and picked up on new things each time. Summer slump what?

So excited for what's to come, Kate and Jon have really transformed the show.

Also, I can't believe that TAMWAR of all people will be sitting on the same sofa as Madonna on the Graham Norton Show next Friday: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0005xl6

New Ben has quickly become possibly the most intriguing and exciting character for me, from one of the worst  I suppose Kate Oates was going for that all along, having him come back and be a panto villain putting this dark front on but then breaking him down a bit and we see the layers that she promised! It doesn't just feel like a random pairing for the sake of it either, there's already lots of chemistry there I feel and it gives a whole new dimension to Halfway too instead of just being stifled as Whitney's latest obsession in her Stepford wife fantasy.
Up until now halfway really was very background material but this storyline will change that completly. Kate has an excellent way of bringing background characters forward and I like how she works with what she has rather than waving the axe.

It's been very good to see her progressing stories or wrapping them up with time and effort instead of the rushed approach (e.g. Max's revenge) and she's done a great job of giving characters a shot at interacting with each other

The show has suffered from dropping characters who still have bags of potential just for a producer to make their mark. With Callum, Kate has taken a character with seemingly no potential and turned it around completely, without contradicting anything that came before.

That is so true and this where Kate really shows her skill.

Sometimes new producers come in and just delete previous history.

With Callum, there wasn't a huge history to worry about but nonetheless they are contradicting anything from his past that we know of.

Sharon is such a mess, I’m loving this already.

We need plenty more scenes of Sharon looking out windows.

Letitia Dean is playing an absolute blinder. I really felt for Sharon tonight, particularly in those closing moments.
Still, I can’t see how Louise could say ‘Sharon, you’re a great mum’ with a straight face.

 I guess from Louise's perspective though, at least Sharon is there.

Sharon pouring a huge glass of wine to have a breakdown with it outside is an absolute mood

I see mopey Mick is back :drama:

I love Kathy having something to do but where on Earth is Ian and why hasn’t he come back in time for Bobby’s release?

Can Adam Woodyat even justify his wage after taking a five month break? These long breaks are still something that needs sorting on the show.
