Cant understand how this Eminem album is doing much better than Revival

Despite Revival having all those high profile collabs

It might help that he's getting a lot of press (good and bad) for the content of the album so people are more curious to see what it's all about. Surprise releases are also good for the hype factor, in comparison to when he released a not very well received Beyonce collaboration so a lot of people probably lost all interest before it even dropped. I'm just listening to the album for the first time now and The Ringer is definitely more gripping an opener than Walk On Water (which I still like tbh).

Won’t Back Down and Need Me are both amazing Eminem x Pink collabs, the only problem with Need Me on Revival was the fact it was 90% Pink.

 

I don’t think there was a problem with any specific features on the album tbh, just that iirc around half of the songs there were with singers on chorus’s which isn’t something he’s done much of before - at least not for a full album. That and the fact Alicia Keys was completely wasted on her song

No one's mentioned it but for me the worst thing about Revival was the really tacky samples of "I Love Rock N Roll" and "Zombie" (and also that whole 'FRAaaaAaAAaAAMED' thing)

I personally dont see the appeal of the new album with all the dissing at people that has talked bad about him, i know all rappers do from drake to minaj but do fans like that? Its a pity all songs are like that cos the track with justin bon iver would be amazing without the eminem parts ;)
