Rhythm of Love approaches its 28th Anniversary this coming November.

The album is regarded as one of her career highlights and the album that delivered the perfect set of singles.

The album provided 4 classic Kylie hits.

But, which is the standout single for you?

Also if there was to be a 5th single which would you have selected?

Please vote and comment.

Everything >>>> Shocked.

Has to be BTD for me though - I remember when it was released and everyone said what a risqué move it was for her

Step Back In Time is my current fave but that and Devil always alternate.

Never fussed with the other two singles.

Things Can Only Get Better would have been my choice for a single.

'Step Back in Time' is the one I listen to the most. But I had to vote for 'Better The Devil You Know' as it's just so iconic.

Agree 'Things Can Only Get Better' would've been a great single. The guitar section 2.34 reminds me of the theme from 'Girl From Tomorrow' (Aussie kids TV at its best).

Although I did love all the singles they went with.

Both What Do I Have To Do and Better The Devil You Know are among my ultimate Kylie songs.

I voted What Do I Have To Do as i felt less people would vote for it but i am thrilled to see it has other votes before me.

Step Back In Time i also like alot, it was a great single that i remain enjoying.

Shocked is the clear 4th here, i like it, but i prefer so so many of her other singles.

I also agree on Things Can Only Get Better, it would have made a great single and i would have preferred it as the 4th single over Shocked.

Genuinely hard to choose but went for "what do I have to do"

I don't think any other singles would have been strong enough for a 5th single but I would go for "Things can only get better"

What do I have to do gets my vote as it's always been a massive fave of mine, love better the devil you know aswell. If a fifth single went ahead things can only get better would have been the best but I prefer it to shocked aswell. This and the 4 singles are all great tracks though.

It's got to be 'Devil', that's just one of the all-time greats.

Also, this has probably got to be her most perfect singles era. All four are just SO essential.

As others have said, it has to be 'Devil' but the other three singles are fantastic. Got to be Kylie's most perfect string of singles released from an album and I agree with Danny that any of the other Rhythm of Love tracks wouldn't hold a candle to these four if released as a single. 'Things Can Only Get Better' is a bop though.

(Just altered the title of the thread to match the other respective threads)

2. What Do I Have To Do?

3. Step Back In Time

4. Shocked

5th single - Rhythm Of Love

It was the perfect set of singles,it's one album where overall the single choices were bang on. Rhythm of love was a huge turning point for Kylie, I'm still surprised the album didn't do better in sales terms for her.

It is surprising the sales drop from Enjoy Yourself to Rhythm of Love especially when we consider the importance of the singles released of ROL.

Better The Devil You Know in particular got great critical recognition and it was a time when we saw Kylie completly changing her style and image.

That said, the singles from Rhythm of Love did not sell as strongly as her previous singles but in many ways left more of a legacy for Kylie moving forward.

Rhythm of Love and Lets Get To It ( to a much lesser extent) were drastic changes for PWL as the sound was so far removed to their usual output and looking back credit has to be given to both Kylie and PWL.

For a long long time I thought ROL had sold way more than it had. It's a shame it didn't sell better but it still did well. ROL was my fave Kylie album for a long long time now I'm not sure if it's this or light years I love more. ROL overall had better singles but light years had slot more better album tracks.

This sales drop wasn't that surprising back then. I remember when BTDYK's video came out people were talking about that Kylie was in the arms of a black man... All four videos got more bad than good press when released. Maybe she would have sold more, if her videos weren't the way they are.

I love all of her four singles and videos for many years now, but I have to be honest, being a kid that time I was kind of confused about Kylie's new direction in music and especially in her styling. I guess her tween fanbase drifted away because she didn't act innocent anymore, while twens never were into her sweet attitude anyway, so she could only keep her teen fans who grew with her and wanted to change from childish to adult like she did, too.

It's no surprise seeing better the devil you know ahead and while I'm not a huge fan of shocked I'm surprised it has no votes.
I wonder if what do I have to went as planned as the second single would it have went too 5 and sold more. I do remember the video for it been seen as controversial at the time.
