Drake initially gained recognition as an actor on the teen drama television series Degrassi: The Next Generation in the early 2000s. Intent on pursuing a career as a rapper, he departed the series in 2007 following the release of his debut mixtape, Room for Improvement. He released two further independent projects, Comeback Season and So Far Gone, before signing to Lil Wayne's Young Money Entertainment in June 2009. Drake released his debut studio album Thank Me Later in 2010, which debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 and was soon certified platinum by the RIAA. His next two releases, 2011's Take Care and 2013's Nothing Was the Same, were both critically and commercially successful; the former earned him his first Grammy Award for Best Rap Album. In 2015, he released two mixtapes—the trap-influenced If You're Reading This It's Too Late and a collaboration with Future titled What a Time to Be Alive—both of which earned platinum certification in the U.S. His fourth album, Views (2016), broke several chart records. The dancehall-influenced album sat atop the Billboard 200 for thirteen nonconsecutive weeks, becoming the first album by a male solo artist to do so in over ten years. The album's second single, "One Dance", topped the charts in several countries, including the US, the UK, and Canada, where it became his first number one single as a lead artist. That year, Drake lead both the Billboard Hot 100 and the Billboard 200 charts simultaneously for eight weeks. Views achieved quadruple platinum status in the US, and earned over 1 million album-equivalent units in the first week of its release. Its lead single "Hotline Bling" received Grammy Awards for Best Rap/Sung Performance and Best Rap Song. In 2017, he released the mixtape More Life. Described by Drake as a "playlist", it became his seventh consecutive number one on the Billboard 200, and set multiple streaming records. A year later, he released the double album Scorpion, which also broke several streaming records. Drake holds several Billboard chart records. He has the most charted songs (154) among solo artists in the history of the Billboard Hot 100, the most simultaneously charted Hot 100 songs in a single week (24), the most time on the Hot 100 (431 weeks) and the most Hot 100 debuts in a week (21). He also has the most number one singles on the Hot Rap Songs, Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay and Rhythmic Charts. Drake has also won three Juno Awards, six American Music Awards, a record thirteen Billboard Music Awards, and is one of the best-selling artists of all time, with over 200 million estimated global sales. As an entrepreneur, Drake has founded the OVO Sound record label with longtime collaborator, 40, as well as using the "OVO" moniker to create a clothing line and program on Beats 1 Radio. - Wikipedia Top 100 Chart History Drake 2009 42 Forever (Drake feat. July 6, 20187 yr Author Future hit? RAYE Friends - 3rd Single Released: 6th June 2018 Label: Polydor Records Video avybKfb3Ax0 Biography Croyden, South London-based R&B singer Rachel Keen (aka RAYE) started her career at the age of ten, guided by her father and her guitar teacher. Her interest in music quickly led to small charity gigs and bouts of singing at her local church. By 2012, RAYE had enrolled in the prestigious BRIT school for music and singing, spending two years perfecting her craft, but she left in 2014 due to the limitations she was being taught and the desire to create her own rules. The following year, RAYE released her debut EP, Welcome to the Winter. The lead single, "Hotbox," was noticed by Olly Alexander (Years & Years) on Hype Machine; he got in touch with RAYE to discuss music, and arranged a meeting with the A&R department at Polydor. With major-label backing, RAYE kept busy in 2016, including co-writing her single "I, U, US" alongside Charli XCX, appearing as a guest vocalist on Jonas Blue's "By Your Side" single, and releasing the SECOND EP. She was back working with Charli XCX the following year, guesting on the singer's tracks "Girls" and "Dreamer." RAYE also delivered her own single, "The Line." - iTunes Top 100 Chart History 2016 15 By Your Side (Jonas Blue feat. RAYE) 2016 03 You Don't Know Me (Jax Jones feat. July 6, 20187 yr Don't Matter To Me  Really hope this goes #1 soon. It's impressive George has managed to block Drake indeed, I've but gone off Shotgun a bit recently. Paradise should've gotten the top spot over it tbh Edited July 6, 20187 yr by Tedward
July 6, 20187 yr Not really keen on 'Don't Matter To Me' at all actually oops. :( The vocal effect on MJ sounded a bit... mangled? Hopefully it'll be a grower I guess. Yay for George getting that second week at #1 anyway. *.*
July 6, 20187 yr MJ doesn't deserve to have his name associated with this. Although it's not as bad as some other recent Dreck songs.
July 6, 20187 yr Yep, we knew it! Florence + The Machine is at number 41 once again with Hunger Oh my God, as if!

July 6, 20187 yr MJ doesn't deserve to have his name associated with this. Although it's not as bad as some other recent Dreck songs. THIS!! Gawwd the music industry bigwigs have a lot to answer for, brainwashing people into liking THAT talentless sloth! Poor MJ :( If he were alive, he would be dueting with people like Britney, not Dreck! Imma gonna be SICK!!
July 6, 20187 yr Oh reaaally? Then why was her music the ONLY music he listened to in his final years? He had her albums up to Blackoot on repeat, including her peak In The Zone :P
July 6, 20187 yr I haven’t been following the UK charts for the past three weeks. But the addition of video streaming (already been counted in the US Billboard Hot 100 since the early 2010’s I think) makes the UK chart a little more refreshing, relevant and interesting. I like the fact that Maroon 5 are doing amazingly well through video streaming (thanks to its brilliant music video) but not doing that well through sales and audio streaming. The three Drake’s tracks within the Top 5 really made the big achievement for him and his new album, but I’m glad that Drake never went to #1 this week. I’m also glad that there isn’t any Drake tracks between #40 to #5, thanks to the OCC’s ‘3 songs by an artist’ ACR rule. Given how massively overrated he is makes me wonder if there are more than three Drake tracks charted within the US and Canadian Billboard Hot 100 this week compared to the UK charts. Without the ACR rule, then the chart would be irrelevant and will undermine the diversity of artists and genres within the Top 40. I remember there’s like 10 or more Ed Sheeran tracks within the UK Top 40 in the earlier part of last year and that was indeed terrible to me! George Ezra’s song ‘Shotgun’ - already having the UK #1 this week and last week - has stared to grow on me. I might like that song now, but I can’t ‘cause ‘Shotgun’ isn’t available to stream through Spotify Canada apparently! I hope this year George will have a big success with his singles and his most recent album in the UK, but I think he may not do well internationally.
