I would have expected Come On England by 4-4-2 to be higher than #198 seeing as it got as high as #2 in 2004.

Amusing to see the awful Shout from 2010 back at #135, I assumed that would have been swept under the rug.

We're On The Ball top 50 *.* That song has intermittently been in my head ever since 2002.

So many bad cover/fake versions of Three Lions in the top 200! Are people really that stupid?

And yet the actual official 2010 version by 'The Squad' (with Robbie Williams) is nowhere to be seen in the top 1,500!!! I presumed from that that it got deleted from iTunes but no, it is still there, just somehow seemingly not attracting even the tiny handful of downloads it would need to re-chart...

'Shout' is completely naff but a guilty pleasure, kind of iconic to see it back in the top 200. xx

There seems to be a few cheap compilations of football songs sung by nobodies, one of them credited to 'The Football Classics Band' is #2 on the iTunes Album Chart, so I imagine a lot are clicking on the album and then decide to just buy one or two songs not realising or caring that they aren't by the original artists.

:cheeseblock:

As awful a """"song"""" it is, the rules are ridiculous  A song could be from 1932 but if it sells/streams the most it should be #1 surely??? It's not like situations like this happen as #1s very often, especially in the streaming era, so like this and potentially a Christmas song isn't going to break the chart by getting a week or two.

Exactly right it is ridiculous - I didn't realise they had snuck this rule in last week with the changes. It could become a talking point straight away because with a win today and especially if they win the World Cup 3 Lions would easily be no1 as it's the song most associated with the English national team and always does well at tournaments. Mind you it would be no1 anyway possibly.

Kelp an eye out on Three Lions now, should stay at iTunes no1 until wednyt at least now!!
so did it come home or is it still on it’s way

The World Cup is doing Jess Glynne on karaoke right now: "Take Me Home"

so did it come home or is it still on it’s way

It's not home yet but we all know it's coming.

Funny how new chart rules always seem to be tested within a couple of weeks of being implemented. Could look very ridiculous if Three Lions misses out because of a sudden rule change.

Yeh as I said above if England win the World Cup and it doesn't go to no1 because of a technicality it'll shine the light on the manipulation of the chart by these rule changes and the general public will be confused!

Let's be real here, the 'general public' are never going to know about this rule change.
