Posted July 16, 20186 yr 15th July 2018 It's new at 1 for 2003 chart-topper (in my charts at least, and nowhere else) Forever More, a slice of Moloko brilliance that was a very minor UK chart hit, outrageously. The video is fab too. Loved it for 15 years non-stop. Singer Roisin Murphy has had 4 solo hits in the years since, but it was great to end a band career on a high. Cher also last charted with a number one - I Walk Alone in 2014, and she's back with Mamma Mia's Fernando cover at the tail-end of the chart, giving her a full actual 47-year solo career in my charts, though really it's 53 years as I Got You Babe was a huge kiddie fave back when I was 7 years old. Yvonne Fair had her only hit, a Motown diva cover that had echoes of histrionics on a par with the equally brilliant Lorraine Ellison's Stay With Me Baby and Jennifer Holliday's And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going. Top 5 in 1976 for me, it started selling last week following a youtube video of a drag act "interrupting" a gay wedding with this song. Giving me a reason to finally rechart it. Loads of new actual songs this week too, highest of which is Hooverphonic at 8. It neither sucks nor blows, is melodically fab, with nice strings, for the Belgium band. Just behind is extended Moby getting his 4th top 10 in 25 years, 20 years since getting his first. Kungs & Stargate are both back, together this time, 90's flop Rollo Goes Camping, all Italian House-ey, is in at 31, and Kim Wilde gets the highest climber at 32 for her 3rd top 40 of the year, with Birthday. It sounded great in concert, as did Katy Perry's Pendulum, the other week in Barcelona, also climbing. Shall be interesting to see how it performs in the final now. Speaking of BJSC, your entry 'Forever More' is a great number 1! I was sad to see it DNQing after throwing a couple of points its way :( it was growing on me more and more with each listen too, that production is so infectious! Hopefully it will perform decently in Rejects. 'Langage' is another wonderful BJSC pick here, hopefully that will do a bit better for Wednesday Campanella this time after finishing far too low for Persephonia a few years ago. I have no interest in Love Island whatsoever but it can stay for helping 'Lost Without You' to take off :wub: hopefully it can reach the top 40. Great stuff ^_^

Langage is quite subtle and takes repeated hearings to register, so I'm hoping that doesnt go against it - I had no idea Bre had already sent Wed Camp in before, oops! Bit of a theme there, even when I sent Kadie Elder in I had no idea Bre had beat me to the band :lol: Thanks for the Love Island info - I saw the track on the itunes chart so played a clip and loved it right off, but had no idea why a track that sounded like nothing else in the charts was selling :D Had I known it was from Love Island I may have not given it a chance :lol: cheers! john B-)

Have to say I was sad to see Moloko DNQ - it was a strong semi so not a total shock, but I wanted to share my love for a forgotten gem :) I love that Hooverphonic entry (you do seem to be hoovering up a lot of my big points lately :lol: ) it's got a classic cinematic sound to it and fab melody, I'm hoping it beats the odds and does well! Moby is also fab, so yes I would be up for it winning too, one of his best efforts in a variable career, it's right up there with his top tracks. Oops on Solo, though - it's a great pop record - Clean Bandit always are though - but it got overwhelmed by the sheer volume of exciting new tracks which forced it downwards even though I like it even more this week than last week.
