October 29, 200620 yr Author 19 (from 9) Lil' Chris - Checkin' It Out http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/88697002812.JPG At the end of last year, Chris found himself taking part in Series Two of 'Rock School', fronted by hilarious rock megalomaniac granddad Gene "Easy On The Eyeliner" Simmons. When the show aired in the UK at the end of 2005, Chris proved to be the star of the show, prompting many viewers to literally fall in love with him on the spot. A rebel without angst, but with plenty of audacity and cheek, he's the "cool" odd kid at school who everyone wants to hang out with. Cute and always ahead of the rest, he is the initiator of any trend his peers follow. 'Checkin It Out' is Chris' debut single and it sounds like Elvis Costello doing 'Song 2' on a bouncy castle: one of the most infectious and borderline-insane pop singles you will hear all year. Chris states that it is not about a library book and is instead about "a teenage boy checking out a girl". His music is rock, with pop sensibility. Comparable more with The Buzzcocks than McFly. 'Checkin It Out' is a no holds barred pop-rock anthem that sprints out of the box, juggernauts at 100 MPH and can be felt by everyone in the same postcode - HMV [flash=450,350]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rJ4ZC3nlIwQ.swf track listing 1. October 29, 200620 yr Author 18 (from 12) Justin Timberlake - SexyBack http://www3.hmv.co.uk/hmv/Large_Images/HMV/82876886832.JPG Out 28.8.2006 Having been away from the music scene for the last couple of years to pursue an acting career (apart from the odd cameo appearances on records with Snoop Dogg and Sergio Mendes), Justin Timberlake finally makes a dramatic return to the charts with the Timbaland-produced 'SexyBack'. Not so much a comeback as a mission statement, 'SexyBack' acts as a taster for Justin’s forthcoming album, 'FutureSex/ LoveSound', his second since he departed the boyband N*Sync, becoming one of the slickest male solo artists of the 21st century. With dirty and sleazy synth riffs, processed vocals and lyrics oozing sexual intentions, 'SexyBack' might well just be Pop Single of the Year. The track also goes some way to cement Timbaland's status of being 2006's hottest producer, which he already demonstrated on Nelly Furtado's 'Maneater'. - HMV [flash=450,350]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vE1Qine4ac8.swf Discussion Thread Here
