April 25, 20205 yr Author I'm hoping these four albums are reissued on ordinary vinyl at some point in time. I'm not really a fan of picture discs. I've never really been tempted by these box sets, no matter how cheap they become! I’d love this - I still have the originals but I wish they would just release bog standard reissue vinyl’s that are not limited and readily available like Madonna etc., have done with their back catalogue. There is such a demand for vinyl that they are missing out by not having them available.
April 25, 20205 yr Ya the releases should be available all the time at standard prices which I hope happens with IP if its eventually issued on vinyl.
April 25, 20205 yr Author Don’t get me started on IP :drama: It’s the one fans have been waiting for and BMG own the rights to it so there is no reason why they shouldn’t reissue it’s tbh - they know demand is there for it and for Kylie vinyl in general as was proved by the Golden and SBIT releases.
April 25, 20205 yr There was rumours it was happening a few months back so I hope it becomes a reality.
April 25, 20205 yr So many Kylie fans crave the Impossible Princess vinyl. With them knowing the demand they should push ahead and release it.
April 26, 20205 yr Kylie mentioned this last year so I'm really hoping it will happen later this year.
April 27, 20205 yr Author Seriously they just need to give it to us now and also stop with all the ‘exclusives’ like they did with KM94 as a Sainsbury’s exclusive but it’s actually available on Amazon. The interest in ‘Light Years’ when it returned to the Top 40 proves how much interest there is in Kylie vinyl - LY could have easily been a consistent seller for them had they made it available permanently.
April 27, 20205 yr Def agree there is an appetite there for it so release and have them available all the time.
April 27, 20205 yr Demand for vinyl is high and acts of Kylie's calibre can sell vinyl all year round. All of Kylie's albums need to be easy accessible on vinyl all of the time and not just available for extremely limited time periods.
April 27, 20205 yr The problem with limited and exclusive releases is the wrong people get their hands on them and flog them online at crazy prices, if the albums had regular long terms availability it would cut this out.
April 28, 20205 yr It would help erase that but more importantly it allows fans to make a choice of when they would like to purchase the release. For some, money may not be readily available when the exclusive is released and miss out. Long term availability allows people to purchase at a time when disposable income may be available.
April 28, 20205 yr Ya fair point, it gives people a choice of when they want to buy if readily available which would also mean more sales in the long term
April 29, 20205 yr With her online store at the least is where all the releases should be available. With the increase in vinyl sales, Kylie would pick up extra casual sales if displayed in various shops selling vinyl.
April 29, 20205 yr I do find it incredibly strange how her back catalogue is being mishandled. I feel like her labels have really missed a trick over the past 5 years, considering the huge increase in popularity for vinyl. Fever and Light Years proved how in demand Kylie vinyl is, yet they had them available in such limited quantities in one supermarket, essentially just for 1 day. It was annoying for UK fans to have to rush to Sainsbury's and probably find empty shelves because someone had already bought all the copies to sell them on to eBay. I mean, at least UK fans had a chance. It was worse for international fans. I'm sure Parlophone could have stood to make a lot more money if they hadn't been so limited. Fair enough, make the coloured versions limited, but why didn't they swiftly follow up those releases with standard black vinyl pressings? Such a missed opportunity. There's only two studio albums readily available on ordinary vinyl currently: Kylie Minogue [1994] and Golden. Most of her other albums are out of print, or haven't even had a first time pressing yet. Impossible Princess not existing yet is certainly a mystery... what are they waiting for? Clearly it's one of the most sought after Kylie items for fans and collectors. Now that it's been a while since the last Sainsbury's exclusive, I hope that association is over with tbh. Impossible Princess needs to be an online pre-order so that all fans who want it can get it. Also, where are Body Language and X! It's unbelievable that an artist like Kylie still doesn't have her entire set of studio albums available on vinyl.
April 29, 20205 yr All your outlined points are on the money. The vinyl availability for her calibre is terrible and they need to work on it. Kylie is very aware of the demand for her albums on vinyl so she needs to work on its availability If Impossible Princess makes its way to vinyl on wide spread availability it will showcase the interest in this format.
April 29, 20205 yr I think it will happen eventually but if they were out now it would keep her albums selling but I can def see vinyl IP selling very very well.
April 29, 20205 yr If readily available how many vinyl Impossible Princess sales would you forsee on its first week of release?

It's unbelievable that an artist like Kylie still doesn't have her entire set of studio albums available on vinyl. Agree with all of this. So many female artists now have their back catalogue on vinyl such as Madonna, Kate Bush, Ariana Grande, Janet Jackson etc., it just makes no sense not to have bog standard versions of Kylie available, they would generate huge interest in week 1 and then continue to trickle sell. Universal have such a good direct to consumer website now and they are constantly releasing back catalogue vinyl and having them on offer for £9.99 or £14.99 - a huge money maker I’m sure to be able to sell an album again to people that probably own it multiple times already on various formats over the years. Team Kylie have totally missed out on the ‘trend’ and KM94 was particularly messy - they touted it as a Sainsbury’s Exclusive yet it’s fully available on Amazon which they should have just promoted it as such. The one that bothers me the most is the lack of Impossible Princess especially as BMG own the rights! It makes no sense for them not to want to capitalise on Kylie after 2 #1 albums!
April 29, 20205 yr Author If readily available how many vinyl Impossible Princess sales would you forsee on its first week of release? The right formats could easily generate enough for a Top 20 return in the current climate IMO. They could have a ‘standard’ vinyl that is available all the time along with some limited editions (Picture Disc, Coloured Vinyl etc.,).
April 29, 20205 yr The lack of IP is def the big one missing and the fans have spoken regularly and loudly about how much they want it, they just need to push ahead with it.
