August 30, 20186 yr Oh my god I was in the process of creating a thread for this :cry: Let me just copy-paste it xx - You're probably well aware of this song: a 1997 recording unearthed and set to a video of a green alien, that turned into a viral dance trend and got a full version released by Ultra Records, which has 744 million YouTube views since its upload in April (albeit having peaked fast). However, to our loss, it wasn't able to cross over, reaching very few national charts (though it made #36 in the US) and amassing only 4.3 million Spotify plays so far. So, did Ultra give up and leave us to sort out our misdeeds? Nope; there's a brand new remix out today with Pitbull (who else?) and Colombian breakthrough artist (with some amped-up production too), and a video featuring (a) El Chombo, the man himself and (b) a group of dancers dancing alongside the green alien *.*.*.*.*.*.* All the more opportunity to try and make this the new 'Macarena'. Some words from the artists: “You have the Best of three different musical generations in a song that is becoming a part of history once again, 20 years later,” El Chombo said in a press statement. “I feel very excited to be part of this song as it was one of the first urban songs that I listened to and danced in my life,” Karol G also noted. “That El Chombo is in the song gives much more strength to the song because he is the true creator; that Pitbull is on the song is an honor because he is an artist that I have always admired and always wanted to work with, and my participation gave it that sensual and feminine touch that was missing to make this remix a complete success.” As for Pitbull, the song is a total success: “A song that has almost 800 million views, I get to do a feature with an alien, El Chombo, Karol G, plus kids love it.
