Before I leave, brush my teeth with a bottle of Jack & Jack

I want your body everybody wants your body so let's Jack & Jack.

Really shocked by how decent 'Don't Leave Me Alone' is tbh. Actually growing on me a bit as well. I expected it to be atrocious from the artists involved

R1 wasting this much time with an interview with an act barely relevant to the chart this week. Ok then. x

I'm not really sure WHY BTS have blown up this much but good to see some variety in the charts I guess. Quite enjoying IDOL ~

Now can we make some space for some other boybands in the charts, Why Don't We and PRETTYMUCH are being criminally ignored by radio and Spotify playlists.

They broke through in part because they write their own music and in the past have written a lot of ~personal~ and ~socially concious~ music, which makes them an alternative to the image people have of k-pop idols as robots controlled by their companies. They're also pretty much the best performers and the universe they created with their videos, heavily using art and literature, is pretty insane. They became huge on social media and once they won that Billboard Music Award in 2017, they just exploded abroad.

Honestly, I feel like Idol is a bit beneath them but it has grown on me. Good for them.

Could be worse, remember when they interviewed The Vamps a few weeks ago and played one of their singles even though they missed #1 album and the top 40 singles?

Biography

5 Seconds of Summer (often abbreviated as 5SOS) are an Australian pop rock band from Sydney, New South Wales, formed in 2011. The group were originally YouTube celebrities, posting videos of themselves covering songs from various artists during 2011 and early 2012. They rose to international fame while touring with One Direction on their Take Me Home Tour.

In early 2014, the band released "She Looks So Perfect" as its debut single, which topped the charts in Australia, New Zealand, Ireland and the United Kingdom. The self-titled debut studio album was released in June 2014, which peaked at number one in 11 countries and followed by a live album titled LiveSOS. The band released their second album Sounds Good Feels Good in October 2015 and followed up with the release of a live documentary DVD called How Did We End Up Here.

On 2 December 2016, the band announced the release of their B-sides and rarities previously unavailable worldwide under the title This Is Everything We Ever Said to celebrate their fifth anniversary as a band. Youngblood (2018) debuted at number one in Australia and the United States, where the group became the first Australian act to achieve three number-one albums. - Wikipedia

Biography

Marshmello

Enigmatic masked DJ/producer Marshmello makes groove-oriented, synth- and bass-heavy electronic dance music. In the spirit of other masked DJs like Deadmau5 and Daft Punk, Marshmello (whose real identity remains a mystery) appears wearing a full-head-covering marshmallow mask. Despite the anonymity, Marshmello's career blew up in 2015 when he began releasing tracks online, including remixes of Zedd's "Beautiful Now," Jack Ü's "Where Are U Now," and others. From there came shows at New York's Pier 94, Pomona, California's HARD Day of the Dead festival, and Miami Music Week. In 2016, Marshmello released a compilation of his previously released tracks, Joytime, which reached number one on a digital top electronic albums chart. Included on the album was the single "Keep It Mello," featuring rapper Omar LinX. He continued to perform and release singles throughout the year, later starting his own Joytime Collective record label. More collaborations followed in 2017, including "Silence," with Khalid, and "Wolves," featuring Selena Gomez. In 2018, Marshmello paired with British vocalist Annie-Marie for the single "Friends." - iTunes

Bastille

Bastille (stylised as BΔSTILLE) are a British indie pop band formed in 2010. The group began as a solo project by lead vocalist Dan Smith, but later expanded to include keyboardist Kyle Simmons, bassist and guitarist Will Farquarson, and drummer Chris Wood. The name of the band derives from Bastille Day, which is celebrated on 14 July, the date of Smith's birthday.

After an independently released debut single and a self-released EP, the band signed to Virgin Records. Their first studio album, Bad Blood, was released in March 2013 and entered the UK Albums Chart at number one. The band was nominated for four Brit Awards at the 2014 ceremony, winning the British Breakthrough Act. As of November 2014, Bastille have sold over five million records in the US and 2.5 million records in the UK. - Wikipedia

They're really scraping the barrel with these interviews now aren't they

I'm looking forward to hearing from Tiesto's tea maker next week!

I'm not really sure WHY BTS have blown up this much but good to see some variety in the charts I guess. Quite enjoying IDOL ~

the k-pop fandom is a wonderful place, isn’t it

bring in exo and then we’ll talk. i’ll Settle for brockhampton

They need big name guests, like Pinkfong.

Could be worse, remember when they interviewed The Vamps a few weeks ago and played one of their singles even though they missed #1 album and the top 40 singles?

The single didn't even go top 100!

This Marshmello & Bastille one is really growing on me since last week.

This implication that BROCKHAMPTON is K-Pop x

(that said, yes at them being top 40 ASAP xx)

Poor Dennis Lloyd also getting skipped despite getting a new peak. This Marshmello song is sounding decent on first listen, certainly a massive improvement on 'FRIENDS' although that's not difficult. x
