September 21, 20186 yr Author Is this really just a show about catfishing people? Pretty much but the "game" is like to make people like you so you get further and can win the money, I guess as concisely as possible we can just say it's catfish Big Brother  It's simultaneously interesting and addictive but trashy and shit so naturally I love it. Only 2 of the 8 at the moment are proper full on catfishing as someone else entirely but there's one playing straight and one has her baby with her but hasn't said.
September 21, 20186 yr I like how Dan automatically assumes that the 65 year-old man is a catfish, but none of the very pretty girls he's been talking to. :drama: It was such a sweet moment when Jennifer and Genelle met each other. Mitchell definitely needs to be blocked next, although I doubt that'll happen. I feel like if Dan's one of the influencers again he might want to block Genelle.
September 21, 20186 yr It really is a shame to see this flopping, because it is such an interesting concept (maybe not executed as well as it could be) and I'm already hooked. Last night's blocking wasn't exactly unexpected. Glad she's gone considering she backtracked on her game plan so quickly too. I'm also quite surprised that they all seem to think Mitchell's gay though? There's a few things Freddie's said in chats etc that haven't exactly been subtle. Yeah Freddie trying to be straight and the things he's said etc just scream either fake or gay. He is bloody awful... i'm wondering if he's going to go into the so awful he's good category soon. But I think he's just going to be irritating until he gets blocked.
September 21, 20186 yr Author I really hope they twig with Freddie, he's playing a terrible game just latching onto the most basic and overwrought "lad" characteristics, I'm hoping that while Dan and Mitchell are "lads" and are so focused on girls and a bit stereotypical, they'll realise Freddie is a bit much. It just seems so obvious, I know it's obvious when we're watching the camp guy speaking into the app but the way he acts on there, as said! Hopefully "Christopher" can get Influencer, I can see Sinead being kinda ruthless and I'm here for it, but that would blow up her game if she's meant to be a sweet old man
September 21, 20186 yr I am actually shocked they are not onto Freddie more they know he can be full on so im shocked they havent't thought he was gay.
September 22, 20186 yr Actually pretty shocked at the recent blocking! Well I can see their points but still.
September 22, 20186 yr I wonder if people who created this show had a focus group (if that's a thing still) consisting solely of teenagers who were just fed youngster terms like catfish, DM, selfie and blocking. The premise looks good but does it capture attention of the latter half of the 18-45 viewer segment? Too bad they went old school with the format and airing too. No wonder it's flopping. In 10-15 years this probably would be a success.
September 22, 20186 yr Author I'm living for Alex having all the guys eating out of the palm of his hand as Kate  Freddie's reaction to being last :manson: Really hope next time "Kate" is influencer she manages to get Freddie out. He's absolutely insufferable, "what am I doing wrong" everything hun lmao.
September 23, 20186 yr I'm living for Alex having all the guys eating out of the palm of his hand as Kate  Freddie's reaction to being last :manson: Really hope next time "Kate" is influencer she manages to get Freddie out. He's absolutely insufferable, "what am I doing wrong" everything hun lmao. Freddie is completely playing it wrong - he should've just gone is as himself and whilst he would still have his awful personality, we wouldn't have to cringe through his attempts to be macho/ straight This show is very addictive though
September 23, 20186 yr Lmao he says he doesn't want to be known as the gay best friend but that would have been a good strategy lmao?
September 23, 20186 yr Freddie definitely would have fared a lot better than he is at the moment had he just gone in and been himself! I've just caught up on Friday's episode, and I'm honestly not surprised at that blocking. I thought Alex/Kate might have stopped it from happening, but Sian proving to be the most level-headed and not just keeping her friends *.* Dan's ego needs knocking down a peg or two as well, he's pretty insufferable at the moment. They all seem to have a problem with Genelle too, but I'm hoping she manages to survive at least the next blocking if Freddie's the next target.
September 23, 20186 yr Dead at Little Mix causing carnage in tonight's ep. Icons. I thought this show would be a hot mess and only watched initially out curiosity, but it's oddly compelling. This + BB are actually the highlight of my nights right now. Actually liking all the contestants so far too (Freddie seems an awful person, but he's admittedly quite hilarious).
September 24, 20186 yr Author Sian can go after Freddie, I can't at "playing a game" being an insult when that's literally what this show is... You SHOULD have a plan and something to do, she's the Circle equivalent of those boring BB housemates who stay because it's vote to evict and they aren't doing anything, her along with Dan aren't really taking the risks and playing it as hard, so they run less risk of being targeted and are just less entertaining, but I do like Dan a fair but he seems a decent bloke just not that entertaining compared to Alex/Kate really playing it.I know it just depends on who you are and some might prefer to be safer rather than caught in a lie, but I have more respect for their game if they actually try and take the risk because that's the whole point. It would be boring if it was just 8 Dans or Sians or Aidens in there :/ The format is so addictive though I agree, at first I was like hmm this is shite and objectively it kinda is but every day there seems to be either a blocking, new person or the ones who are caught in a lie and you have to roll over to the next day and see what happens  It was a bit slow for a couple of days but I think it's really getting off the ground now, it's quite an easy watch but it's meaty enough to be addictive and really get into the game. EDIT: Omg I've just finished yday's episode and I'm here for Ryan catching out Freddie, PLEASE *.*
September 24, 20186 yr That cliffhanger  I'm a bit gutted that Freddie and Genelle didn't just outnumber Dan and get rid of Kate there. I really liked Sinead, but I guess as Christopher there was nothing too interesting there (I do still find it weird though that they don't think a 65 year old would know who Little Mix are... I feel like my grandparents, in their seventies, would :kink:). Not surprised to see Aiden blocked too as she wasn't exactly the biggest personality in there. I'm hoping Ryan proves popular enough to become an influencer and get rid of Alex/Kate. He went in hard on Sinead, so I hope he finds a way to catch Alex out.
September 24, 20186 yr Author Ughhh Freddie as influencer :drama: I've got a bad feeling he could win this, they just don't seem to be cottoning onto him. Yas Genelle joint second though, definitely my favourite, she's not playing the most insanely interesting game but she's so likeable. Alex is playing the most interesting game I think. I'm not that fussed on the blockings today, I really like Sinead as herself tbh but as Christopher she just doesn't seem to have really thought it through. Like with say Freddie or Alex/Kate, they seem to know what to respond pretty quickly like when the latter had the book about make-up and the former just seems to know what to say to fit in as a straight "lad", whereas Sinead was giving the most basic answers so it did just make it feel like she was going off the bare minimum she remembered her grandad telling her that was in the back of the brain, if you are going to be such an opposite character you'd have to commit a bit more. Aiden was inconsequential really, as she's just being herself and isn't really that fun or likeable, plus she seemed to just be stuck on Mitchell and then didn't really bother with others as much so she was a bit f***ed as Mitchell just went and she didn't have a chance to right her wrongs.
September 24, 20186 yr Ughhh Freddie as influencer :drama: I've got a bad feeling he could win this, they just don't seem to be cottoning onto him. I honestly don't know how... surely Sian has an incline that he's gay? The chats she has with him scream gay best friend. Sinead definitely should have had a more thorough game plan than she did. Obviously there's flaws in Alex's game (not knowing who Little Mix were for a start), but it seems like before going in he's really got into character, knows exactly what to say and knows almost everything about Kate. Sinead seemed to do it all on a whim and, as you say, from memory.
September 24, 20186 yr Author Probably but Sian is too dim to make a move on it tbh  I'm intrigued a lot by Ryan so I hope that he unearths a lot of it and uses his suspicions as so far he seems like the sort who will play hard despite playing as himself.
September 25, 20186 yr Yeah I've got a feeling Freddie may win it... But agreed how the heck does Sian not realise Freddie is a gay best friend. Calling her bestie etc. The ending though with Aiden going in to see Kate/ Alex. This is so much better than Big Brother!
September 25, 20186 yr Wow, I love this! Sinead was nice, but played a pretty shite game, you can't be unprepared here + why would any show cast you if you're boring af? Just becase you're 65? The others were right, she should've prepared with shtloads of stories and should've become buddies at least with the guys. She played a 65-year-old how a teenager sees one, not like a fairly active 65-year-old sees himself, which was a big mistake. She could've studied Kevin from Big Brother US, now that's a valid 60+ character, okay, a bit Boston-edition, but still (not that I'm fan, but he had a personality, at least). On the other hand, Alex is well-prepared, her Kate started out as perfect, but now it's the second episode in a row where he loses his temper and with that, his 'Kate' too. I wouldn't be surprised if that would be his downfall shortly. The cliff was priceless, but why didn't Sinead have this 'visiting' opportunity like everyone else?
