Me too, they've got it down perfectly having this cliffhangers at the end when someone is about to be visited or get rumbled or there's a new player, I feel like every episode has something like that where you feel like you have to tune in to see it tomorrow and that's really important with a new format. With Love Island or Big Brother, you tuned in every time because you know things are going to happen (arguments, challenges, evictions/dumpings) and it's reliable drama, but it's really clever to leave people hanging and tease the big thing happening the next day as this isn't an established format where you know what to expect.

I wanted to see Sinead visiting more than Aiden too as Frank said because I was gagging to see the looks on whoever's face when a little Welsh girl walks in :lol: But I'm just as excited to see Aiden reacting to Alex being Kate and how Alex explains it because if Aiden can point out some of her misgivings then Alex could really learn from that and his game can adapt to omit those things or work on what needs to be worked on. Perhaps we will see Sinead after Aiden, fingers crossed!

I actually think that like Love Island, it isn't bound by day x and day y and therefore the episodes can be edited in a way to build towards something happening.

Big Brother is bound by its format in the UK to its detriment IMO. The US version has an event each episode that is build towards; Eviction, Noms and Veto. The Circle has cliffhangers with new players and the rumblings when there is a blocking. Love Island too builds towards new people coming in or recouplings/ dumpings. However Big Brother is just a days events and if nothing has happened then you're kind of screwed.

Really I think if Big Brother in this country is to evolve it needs to adapt as it feels slow compared to most reality shows now. I guess they're trying this year to keep attention with the coins and the veto etc but really its too little to late. They should've put these changes in place 3-4 years ago when they kept saying the game is changing, when it didn't at all.

[majority of that is probably for another thread though :D)

True, when people are shifting towards things like TOWIE/Ex/Geordie Shore I think things like this are needed, it is malleable like Love Island (I agree with that, my initial point was just that you know what's happening roughly because it's a format that's established), say if there was a really good dynamic between a group and a few on the verge of being rumbled they could just hold back a blocking for a couple of days and let things happen, whereas as you say on Big Brother there's got to be an eviction on whichever day because it's such an established format that it's kind of rigging or fixing it if they were to change it too much.

That's not to say I'm not really enjoying BB this series more than I have in years which is a separate point but that's a valid point about the future of reality TV and where it is probably going for sure.

As an aside... is the mark on Freddie's side his mic, a mole or a tattoo?

Everytime he is shirtless (or naked) as per yesterdays episode, I keep trying to see what it is :lol:

Jesus these two newbies......... Neither of them are even playing it well or seem that interesting, both like BB rejects who'd be out week 2 :lol:

Less of this who fancies who shite too please, I do love that they keep adding people after blockings though because it keeps dynamics shifting and everyone has to be on their toes.

Can't say I'm keen on either of the two new ones. Also getting a bit tired of them all taking the romance approach when they go in now. I understand that they might think going in, seeing who they're attracted to and building an alliance with that person based on romantic interest will be advantageous... but only with that one person. We saw what happened with Aiden and Mitchell and they're both gone now, so it's clearly not the best strategy. :drama:

So I watched the last two episodes and ep 6... I kind of expected it would be both Sinead and Aiden. Both nice girls but I agreed with the reasons why they were blocked. Aiden's face seeing Alex was PRICELESS.

On to ep 7. Meh wasn't here for the two newbies either. Can see them going first chance they are up.

Yeah not really liking the 2 newbies and the other new psychic guy i'm not feeling. But then I hate Farage and UKIP.

I can definitely see the newbies being the ones to go in the next ratings.

I think I like the two newbies, I'd hate them irl but they're good TV. It's nice to see Genelle doing something entertaining, loved the virtual bitchfight. I really hoped tho that at least one of the newbies will be a new Kate, too many awful but real people in the cirlcle now.

Yes I thought that; I'd have thought that they may have put a couple more catfishes in there. Although the one playing Christopher just hadn't done her homework.

Oh yeah Ryan is a knob :lol: He could probably be a target too soon enough as thankfully none of them shared his views, I could see Alex, Genelle and Dan targeting him for that. People can say all they want that it's "just politics" but I think when you know as little about each other as someone does after a day or two on a social media platform, that would really ring alarm bells for me as to what a person was like.

I totally agree there's too many real people in there too, I think Dan and Genelle fit that type just fine (and at least Genelle has her secret baby). I know we have to have some of those to compare to the catfishes but it was so much more interesting watching Sinead trying to keep up being her grandad and it's so much more interesting watching Alex on the verge of getting caught out as Kate and having to be on his toes. There's nowhere near as much fun in watching a futuristic episode of a Poundland Love Island.

Haven't seen this, just to ask is it worth watching?

Definitely yes!

As a Big Brother fan since the beginning, I can confidently say this is way way better than the last load of civilian series. Don't be put off by the first half of the first show as by the end I'm sure you'll be hooked. Plus there are cliffhangers too which make the next episode a must see!

Wow, I was actually quite shocked at this bit, I thought Ryan is a fairly intelligent guy, but diving into such a swampy area as politics... definitely not a smart move. Can't wait for the next rating, I think he won't even get 2,0 (and he won't understand why).

Now let's remember why we love Freddie:

/chat with Kate in the morning after the double blocking/

F: {As long as she knows I like her, that's all that matters - even though it's bullshit.}

(...)

F: -Listen, I feel like me and you could have a genuine friendship.

F: {What the f***ing bitch's going to say...}

:lol:

Oh yeah, this is awesome. A bit trashy on the surface but has a lot more to it. I'm not huge on social media, but I'm still obsessed (love competition realities though).

Definitely! I don't always buy the whole "never talk about politics or religion" thing because I love a good discussion, but that statement is one to live by with new people, rookie mistake when you have opinions as extreme as loving UKIP.

Omg just caught up and I'm screaming at Genelle and Dan dragging Ryan :rofl: The episode was a bit dull but it got there at the end *.*

Freddie is an odious twat, the slightest hint of anyone playing the game sets him off to 11 even though he is too :manson: It's not even good TV tbh he's just loud, obnoxious and a really quite nasty person, hopefully him getting mouthy puts a target on his back because whilst he is bringing drama I suppose he is kind of putting me off of the show in general :/

I'm actually finding myself disliking Genelle after tonight's episode, unfortunately. :( Last night was the beginning of it - the whole 'romance' with Dan that came from absolutely nowhere (which is also completely one-sided on her part), and now tonight it seemed like she was just latching onto anything and everything that Dan said in group chats, hoping that if she agrees it'll win her some popularity within the group. The trio of her, Dan and Kate are unbearable. Dan's been incredibly loathsome to watch.

That said, the last half of tonight's episode was certainly eventful. Glad to see Kate came out on top for most annoying / snakiest *.* At this point, I'm really backing Sian and hoping she can hang on longer than the likes of Dan/Genelle/Kate :heart:
