Now available to pre-order from Kylie’s official website for £10 - I’d grab it quickly as I’m sure it will sell out (I’ve just ordered 2!).

No new songs but some new digital content and the tape is limited to 1,500 -

‘Golden’ is Kylie’s fifth number 1 album in a record breaking career. The album has recently been certified Gold and the cassette format crowned as the biggest selling cassette of 2018!

To celebrate we are launching a Collector’s Edition Gold Cassette.

This is limited to 1500 copies and is exclusive to the Official Store.

The cassette also contains a AAA pass which, using Shazam, will give you access to unseen and unheard content.

Collector's edition cassette with gold foil inner ribbon, wrapped in a card slipcase and sealed using a luxury gold mirror board finish with matt UV and uncoated inner; all completed with a gold foil sticker seal.

so 9th November is when the album will be re-released it seems........ prime time for Europe dates and Xmas market

Limited to 2 per customer/account so hopefully will give everyone an opportunity to get a copy rather than them all ending up on eBay!

Will order now.

All these sales will count in the one week most likely which will ensure the album is back in the charts again, as along with these sales she will attract sales elsewhere.

Ideally this would tie in with the CD re-release and if so, the album should easily make a Top 20 or higher return.

I’ve no interest in buying the cassette but a reissue on CD would be good!

I love that Kylie just advertised this on her Instagram story rather than posting it everywhere - it really gives fans a proper opportunity to get a copy so many times I’ve missed out on limited editions only to be forced to buy it at an inflated price from eBay (As happened with the signed copies of Golden cassettes).

It is better the fans have a real chance first and not money hungry people buying to make a small fortune.

The cassette is just a pure collectors item only, as i wont actually play it.

I would welcome the new CD version to have an interesting concept in addition to new music.

All sold out apparently.

Yep the website has been updated to say sold out - I knew they wouldn’t last long!

As always such a stupid limited edition amount to make, Kylie fans have proved time and time again that we will snap up vast numbers of limited editions - even the 2,500 copies of the Light Years vinyl was not enough, they should really do runs of at least 5,000.

I can understand why they'd be limited. Cassettes are such a niche product and I assume they cost more to make than vinyl and CDs do. However, you're right that Kylie fans have proven they'll buy these sort of things and I think the team should push the boat out a bit more than they have.

The lack of physicals all together for the singles (aside the 'Dancing' vinyl as part of an album bundle) has surprised me most, especially when they have direct comparisons from previous eras in the non-physical market and can see the effect they have had on chart positions. I'm not bothered by the general handling of 'Golden' and 'A Lifetime to Repair' as I've seen the "strongly promote a couple of singles and just rely mainly on airplay for subsequent singles" strategy be used for other artists in similar stages in their career as Kylie, but I do think about how a physical release could have got those songs into the official Top 100 if done right.

So many have been listed on eBay already :nocheer: All listed around the £90-100 mark - such a shame that once again fans and collectors will have to pay way over the odds for an item that will ultimately never get used.
With it sold out so quickly, it may result in them issuing more as now they know for sure the demand is there for it.

The last cassette sold out really quickly and they issued an extra batch signed ones so maybe a few more might pop up nearer the release date.

They have the time to get more ready.

I think they would be crazy not to, they could easily sell 5,000 of these without much effort.

Article here about the success of ‘Golden’ on cassette - https://www.google.com/amp/s/inews.co.uk/ne...ans-rewind/amp/

The limited numbers it seems is due to the fact that only very few places actually have the ability to make them at all now. Guess vinyl never totally died out in the same way the cassette did so it’s easier to produce vinyl.

I would welcome a new edition of the vinyl in addition to the CD and cassette.

There is an opening to make it a standout vinyl if they do something different with it.
