I hate to say this but Kelly's NE is super disappointing :( The song doesn't need the production changes and her voice kinda feels like it's on a 7/10 level in places when the song needs 20/10. Easily the weakest of this album so far :(

Ok I take that back, 4 or 5 more listens and I'm living, shouldn't have even doubted Kelly :kink:

It's sfg. Her voice 😭😭

The production floruishes are a little pointless, but this is a reimagined album so I forgive her/they're not terrible or detract from the song.

It reminds me of her version of 'It's Quiet Uptown' from the Hamilton Mixtape, which was delivered better as a live performance with just her and a piano.

Kelly’s version is currently #46 on UK iTunes!

Absolutely adore her rendition!

ngl i agree with this.

of course it’s a million times better than any other pop queen could do but i think she could have saaaang it more.

plus, the ‘spin’ they put on it by having her sing on half a bar delay makes it sound like she’s out of time.

when the original is so well known to change the structure like that, even in such a minor way, is jarring.

that said.. i have still listened on loop + i hope we get to hear her do it live at some point.

I get where people are coming from, but it really reminds me of her 'It's Quiet Uptown' cover from the Hamilton mixtape. I think we all had it in mind that it'll be a straight cover (which she'd absolutely slay to high heavens :kink:) however it's a reimaiuned version so I appreciate what they've done with it and like that it's the most different take on the song from what we've heard off of the album so far.

But I really, really hope we get an acoustic/piano version from her, just like she did with IQU.

Slaaaayyyyy.

Oh and the original if people wanna compare them in a original > reimagined > acoustic version haha.

The James Arthur and Anne-Marie song IS as horrendous as it seems on paper :puke:

*becomes the actual smash from the album*

I surprisingly love what they've done with 'Come Alive'! Really wasn't expecting it.

Come Alive is really good :o The new Tightrope is great too, that was definitely the weak link of the soundtrack for me and Sara sounds much better on it. Pentatonix's bonus version of TGS is nice too,not as huge as Panic's but a really good cover.

RTS is of course hideous, all the life sucked out of it.

A Million Dreams and Panic's TGS tho >>>>

Loving 'Come Alive', Jess smashes it again!

It's also better than anything Years & Years have done recently.

James Arthurs autotune tho omg

‘Come Alive’ is an absolute bop. Was my least favourite in the film but really loving this version.
'Come Alive' is so so so far better than anything Jess has put out this year. She actually sounds really good on it too, so why's her solo material been so dull?

I adore Come Alive, A million dreams, never enough and this is me. They're def all keepers 😍

Tightrope is really nice and I love Sara's vocals but I doubt I'll return to it much as it's the filler of the movie. Willow's reprise is also nice but I doubt I'll return to it.

The other side, from now on and the greatest show (both versions) are all quite meh and way inferior to their originals, I doubt I'll return to any of them cos I'd choose the originals everytime.

Come alive (Craig David's) version is pretty bad and the verses are horrid and I hate James and Anne's RTS (tho I don't hate it as much as others). James ruins it so much 😭

i can't at this 'tightrope' shade - it's in my top 5! i think sara's version kinda killed the song + turned it into a dullard.

what i love most about the original is the melancholic highs + lows, how unsteady the production feels + michelle's delivery of the journey - literally walking a tightrope on track.

echoing the love for 'come alive', though - that's a transformation! the kind of reimagining i can get behind.

'Rewrite The Stars' is gonna go top 5 officially and #1 on iTunes after XF isn't it? :(
The album only did 25k this week, thought it'd be a lot more!
^ Bear in mind that the compilations chart doesn't have streaming going towards it, it's 100% pure sales!
