I’d say Ari is smart

Ed is smart + a bit desperate

The multiple versions of Perfect were unnecessary

Cannot see Ari releasing 7 versions of her song

One with Drake, one with The Weeknd etc

I dont really care who gets it but id prefer an actual christmas song to get christmas number 1 its been a very long time
100% She posted on her story about not making number 1 in the USA too before taking it down 2 minutes later.

thank you, next is HUGE there isn't a need for a new single yet..

Personally I hate it when artists release one after the other after having huge songs it just becomes overload.

She'll stop Ava from getting a #1 now because she'll dominate with this next single too YAWN.

I don't think Ava was going to make it anyway. She's still quite a bit behind on streams.

The multiple versions of perfect were necessary or he wouldn’t have got the #1 with Perfect. I don’t really agree with all versions counting but he won me my bet lol

I'm not sure it'll instantly jump in at no2 next week anyway especially if it is a grat. Only someone like ed or Adele could be dominant on THAT level and she is becoming huge as we speak. If it's a good song and is picked up it could eventually chart in the top 5!

I don't see the point in going back to held back campaigns - if a songs there let it be heard and rise if it's good enough.

Not necessarily held back would of just been nice to let thank you, next play out a bit longer before releasing another single.

I'm just gutted was praying Ava was going to hit #1 after Christmas, doesn't look likely now as Imagine looks like it could be big too.

Haha I sort of guessed from your post it was more annoyance at Avas chance of (what would be a deserved no1) the top spot. I do have sympathies with your point of steady releases clans campaigns!

Lol so it was all a rant cos you want Psycho at @1

Talk about selfish lol :-)

Pretty much

Even Basil Brush's 'White Christmas' was considered a contender by The London Evening Standard.
How worried should I be about backing Ariana?

Bet365 cash out offer is the same as my stake now.

Personally I think Ariana is safe still because there was so much Streaming data missing. Youtube's was missing for the whole weekend.

Not at all, bookies have been clueless throughout. Last year 'Rockabye' wasassive odds until just before even though it was an obvious No1.

Ariana will get it.

To me Rockabye was never an obvious #1 just as much as Bieber *wasn't* the year before. There was no reason to assume all of the charity records would do nothing when just the year before that choir song sold in bucket loads.

Even this year, just when you think it's safe to assume charity records will no longer ever be a threat we have one now right in the mix. Always extremely hard for the bookies to call...

According to an article in the Entertainment section of the BBC Newswebsite, Ladbaby has no chance.

Here's the second paragraph.

Sales of We Built This City are robust: It was downloaded more times on Saturday than Grande's song managed in the whole of last week. But its performance on streaming platforms is almost negligible,

"People will cheerfully buy a charity single," says chart expert James Masterton. "It's a nice, tangible, feel-good gesture. But they won't necessarily listen to it."

Proving his point, LadBaby's single doesn't appear anywhere in Spotify's Top 50 most played chart, which is dominated by Christmas songs. On YouTube, it's amassed 527,000 views, making the site's Trending Videos chart, but Thank U, Next is way ahead, averaging 10m plays per day.

In a chart where streams outweigh sales (last week, streams accounted for 92% of Grande's chart position), that irreparably damages LadBaby's chances.

Bearing in mind that the mid-week chart does not include streaming data from Amazon, Apple and Spotify for Sunday, and lacks YouTube data for the entire weekend (this is quite normal, by the way), and it seems the real chart battle is between Grande's Thank U, Next and Max's Sweet But Psycho.

The latter has just had its price cut to 59p on iTunes, which could give it a small competitive edge.

Ava Max (+10% week-on-week) is pulling ahead of Ariana (-18% week-on-week) so I'd expect that she is now the favourite for #1... but it is probably too early to call yet.

Does Ava have this?! :o Her odds are as short as 4/5 now, Ari's drifted as far out as 10/3 :o

EDIT: Yup, looks like Ava's got it. She's 2/7 and Ari's now 3rd fave @ 6/1

Ava has dropped a lot in the betting with LadBaby shortening and taking the lead

Ariana at the 10/1 could still be a good bet

A tenner on Ariana could be a tempting bet at this stage!
